Today we’d like to introduce you to Maverick Schippmann.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got into a skydiving crash that ended my college football career. Everything I thought I was working toward changed in one moment. After that, with a complete loss in identity, I felt called to travel. I booked a one-way ticket to Hawaii, where I felt called the most, and that trip turned into three months of solo travel on accident.
I kept following random moments. A cheap flight. A stranger inviting me somewhere. A feeling that I should keep going. Those moments pulled me around the world.
I started recording things just so I could remember them, but people really connected with the honesty and the realness, and that is what grew my platform.
Now I share my story and my experiences to show people they do not need life figured out to start living it. I am still figuring it out myself. Still following the moments.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road.
The skydiving crash was the first major setback. Losing my football career overnight forced me to rebuild my identity from scratch. Physically I had to recover, and mentally I had to accept that the life I planned was gone. That was a tough stretch.
Travel brought its own challenges. I was moving through new places with no real plan, often unsure of what I was doing or where I was going. There were moments of loneliness, moments where money was tight, and moments where I questioned whether I should just go back home and start over in a more traditional way.
Content creation was another learning curve. Putting myself out there was uncomfortable at first. I had to learn how to tell my story, how to be consistent, and how to handle criticism, growth, and the responsibility that comes with having people watch your life.
Every struggle pushed me toward something better, and every setback opened a door I never planned on walking though.
I would not call the road smooth, but I would call it meaningful, and it is still unfolding.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Mav Untamed – Untamed Outfitters ?
My work and my brand all come back to one idea: encouraging people live untamed.
Mav Untamed started as me sharing my life, my travels, and the mindset shifts that came after my skydiving crash and the end of my football career. Over time it grew into a community of people who want to live with more courage, more freedom, and more intention.
I create content, tell stories, and share the real side of traveling, rebuilding, and finding your own path. I am known for the honesty in my storytelling and the “follow the moments” mindset that guides everything I do. Nothing is staged or forced. People connect with the authenticity, and that has become the core of my platform.
Out of that, my brother and I started Untamed Outfitters, which is slowly growing into a lifestyle brand built around the same mission. The goal is to create apparel and gear that remind people to break out of comfort zones, say yes to adventure, and trust their own journey. It is not just clothing. It is a message and a mindset.
What sets my brand apart is that everything comes directly from my lived experience. I am not trying to look perfect or pretend I have life figured out. I share the highs, the lows, the uncertainty, and the internal work that goes into living a life that is not traditional. That realness is what resonates.
I am most proud of the fact that people tell me my content has helped them book their first trip, leave a situation that was holding them back, or start living for themselves. That impact is what drives both Mav Untamed and Untamed Outfitters.
What I want readers to know is this: my brand exists to remind you that you do not need a perfect plan to start living a meaningful life. You just need the courage to take the first step, trust the moments, and live untamed.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I definitely would not be where I am without the people around me.
My family has played a huge role, and my brother has been one of my biggest supporters. Building Untamed Outfitters together has been an incredible experience and has brought us even closer.
I also want to acknowledge the people who have followed my content from the beginning. Many of them connected with the message before it even had a name. They shared the videos, sent messages, and believed in the idea of living untamed right alongside me. Their early belief helped shape the direction of the brand and the mission.
A lot of people believed in the vision before I fully understood it myself, and I am grateful for every one of them.
