Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Scott.
Hi Michele, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out as an Electrical Engineering graduate of Morgan State University in Maryland. I secured a job at a major telecommunications company and relocated to Atlanta in 1990 with the company. I worked in IT in various management positions as an engineer and principal business analyst and I also led management and non management engineering and systems teams. I have over 31 years of experience with restructuring and reengineering systems and processes and leading teams. In 2018, I was diagnosed with cancer and my husband was already being treated for cancer. That was a pivotal time in my life. I began to question whether I was fulfilling purpose in my life. What was I passionate about and was I pursuing that passion? Would I die with an incomplete, unfulfilled life purpose? I was determined not to let that happen. My husband and I went through the prescribed treatments that year. In 2020, when the world was shut down for several months due to COVID, I started and facilitated an online bible study for community and to focus on my spiritual development during a time when the world was silent and the pace of life had slowed down enough for some introspection. The bible study was supposed to last 5 weeks. The group did not want to end after 5 weeks because there was so much growth and personal insight we were experiencing. We began to question our life purpose and I unknowingly began coaching the group. Many in the group began to pursue their passions, resolve past hurts and overcome limiting beliefs. I had discovered my passion. In 2021, I retired and immediately enrolled in a coaching program to get certified with Dream Releaser Coaching. I completed 4 tracks, 1o weeks each, and started my coaching business, Cultivate Coaching & Consulting LLC. I also, was ordained as a Minister/Teacher in 2024 under the covering of Lion’s Roar Ministries and started Cultivate Training Institute LLC to utilize my spiritual gifting as a teacher. I have the privilege of combining coaching, consulting, mentoring and teaching to help people discover and pursue life purpose through the blueprint of the Bible while confronting and conquering the challenges, tests and trials encountered in life to arise victoriously. I am happy to say that my husband and I are here by the grace of God and are living cancer free.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course it has not been a smooth road. In coaching, we are our first clients. I value being authentic, so I continually seek to live what I coach, consult, mentor and teach. I have been my biggest challenge. The biggest struggle has been overcoming imposter syndrome – those feelings of insecurity and inadequacy that creep into my mind. Some life experiences and self talk can result in belief systems that are contrary to truth. I continually confront the way I think, my mindset, and utilize the Bible as my guide for right thinking. I focus on unlearning unhelpful thought patterns and relearning new, more beneficial ways of thinking. Once my mind is aligned and has eliminated the beliefs that limit my potential, I can accomplish all the things I desire to do and become who God has designed me to be. Then, the hindrances to progress are seen as challenges that I overcome. Another challenge is silencing the noise, all the external voices that say, “This is how it should be done”. You can spend an exorbitant amount of money unnecessarily when starting a business because of the imposter syndrome of never feeling good enough. It can drain your wallet and cause stagnation. Just get started and tweak as you learn and grow. I have a great support system of family and friends who truly encourage me and provide doors of opportunity for me to utilize my gifts and talents. Make the most of those opportunities.

Cultivate Coaching & Consulting LLC and Cultivate Training Institute LLC are my businesses. I coach, consult, mentor and teach with the Bible as the foundation. I am known for being an excellent teacher of the Bible making it easy to comprehend and applicable to life. I am know as the person you can come to for sound wisdom. I am the coach who helps clients experience transformation and achieve desired results. I am the one who will tell you the truth and nurture you, all in love. My specialty is helping adult professionals seeking biblical wisdom discover and pursue life purpose through the blueprint of the Bible while confronting and conquering the challenges, tests and trials encountered in life to arise victoriously. Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality or characteristic I feel is most important to my success is having uncompromising integrity. I seek to be honest, moral and upright in my character and in my actions.
