Inspiring Conversations with Omar Townes of Cut Creaters Enterprise, WOW Natural Hair Products, Fit at Fitness, and OmarTownes.com

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar Townes. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Omar Townes

In the heart of Newark, New Jersey, amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life, there stood a sanctuary of creativity and transformation: Cut Creaters. Born from a desire to flee the “street life” and forge a path of purpose, it was a beacon of hope in a community hungry for change. It all began in 1993 when a partnership in a salon called “Flavor for your Hair” dissolved, leaving behind a dream unfulfilled. But out of the ashes of disappointment rose a new vision. In 1995, Cut Creaters emerged, a testament to resilience and determination. With each snip of the scissors, glide of a blade, twist of a loc, and stroke of the brush, its founder, Omar “Mr. Hands” Townes, poured his heart and soul into building something extraordinary.

By 1997, Cut Creaters had blossomed into a thriving enterprise, touching the lives of countless individuals seeking not just a haircut but a sense of belonging and empowerment. Yet, the journey was far from over.

In February 2014, fate intervened at the Bronner Bros. show in Atlanta, Georgia. As Omar showcased his unparalleled talent in styling and cutting hair, the audience was captivated. They saw not just a skilled artist but a man with a divine gift, a calling to bring beauty and joy to the world.

Moved by their insistence, Omar made a life-changing decision. On March 14, 2014, he left behind the familiar streets of New Jersey and embraced a new chapter in Atlanta. It was a leap of faith fueled by a profound sense of purpose and guided by the memory of his beloved son, whose loss had left an indelible mark on his soul.

With unwavering determination, Omar poured his heart into Cut Creaters Enterprise, transforming it into the “greatest salon in the world.” But his vision extended beyond the confines of a salon chair. He wanted to create a space where people could not only look their best but also feel their best and be their best—a space where community, creativity, and compassion thrived.

Thus, Cut Creaters became more than just a salon; it became a catalyst for change and innovation. Through ventures like WOW natural hair products, FitatFitness onsite gym, the LvnRoom, and Omar Townes.com, Omar empowered others to pursue their dreams and live their best lives. He presented a space where he invited others to “be a part of something that’s greater than you.”

As the years passed and Cut Creaters celebrated nearly three decades of success, Omar remained humble, acknowledging that his achievements were not his own but gifts from a higher power. For him, it was all “God-given”—a testament to faith, resilience, and the power of turning pain into purpose. And in every haircut, retwist, every product, and every smile, the legacy of Cut Creaters continued to shine bright, inspiring all who crossed its threshold to believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“My biggest challenge throughout the success of building a great empire was breaking up my family.” Amidst the towering achievements and the accolades that adorned the path to greatness, there loomed a shadow—a whisper of regret that echoed through the halls of triumph. For Omar “Mr. Hands” Townes, the journey to building a great empire came at a cost he could have never imagined: breaking up his family.

In the relentless pursuit of success, the demands of entrepreneurship often clashed with the sacred bonds of family. The late nights at the salon, the endless meetings, the tireless dedication to his craft—all took their toll on the precious moments that should have been shared with loved ones.

As the empire grew and the accolades poured in, the strain on Omar’s family became undeniable.

Yet, amidst the chaos and the clamor of ambition, Omar found solace in the love and support of his family. They were the silent pillars that held him up when the weight of the world threatened to crush him. And it was their unwavering belief in him and the pain from losing a son that fueled his determination to press on, to build something greater than himself.

But even in the face of adversity, Omar never lost sight of what truly mattered. For him, success was not just about building an empire—it was about building a legacy that would stand the test of time. And that legacy, he knew, could only be built on the foundation of love, sacrifice, and family.

So, as he looked back on the journey that brought him to where he stood today, Omar knew that the greatest triumph of all was not the empire he had built but the family he had fought to preserve. And though the road had been long and fraught with challenges, he was grateful for every obstacle, for they had only strengthened the bonds that held his family together.

In the end, Omar realized that true success was not measured in wealth or fame but in the love and laughter shared with those who mattered most. And as he stood at the pinnacle of his achievements, he knew that his greatest legacy would always be the love he had given and received from his family, unbroken and unyielding, even in the face of adversity.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cut Creaters Enterprise, WOW Natural Hair Products, Fit at Fitness, and OmarTownes.com. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My work and businesses are truly a reflection of divine inspiration and dedication. It all began with a profound moment during prayer in Mecca, where I received the vision for WOW natural hair products. Losing a beloved product was disheartening, but through prayer, I found the answer in WOW, standing for Why Over Work. It’s a testament to the belief that sometimes the best solutions come when we surrender to a higher power. Fit at Fitness is another venture close to my heart, embodying the philosophy that health is wealth. In a world obsessed with chasing money, we often overlook the importance of investing in our well-being. Fit at Fitness provides a space for tenants to prioritize their health conveniently, integrating movement and activity into their workday to combat stagnation and promote wellness.

The LvnRoom is a personal sanctuary where I can cherish moments with loved ones who share my appreciation for tranquility over nightlife. It’s a space for those who seek chill vibes and meaningful connections away from the distractions of the outside world.

OmarTownes.com stands as the pinnacle of my entrepreneurial journey, encompassing mentorship, business building, and loc classes. It’s a platform where I can empower others and share my expertise, focusing on what truly matters: people. My commitment to hard work and unwavering dedication sets me apart—I refuse to be outworked, constantly striving for excellence even when others rest.

However, if there’s one brand that fills me with immense pride, it’s Cut Creaters. The joy I derive from interacting with people and making a positive impact in their lives is unparalleled. It’s a reminder that my true specialty lies in connecting with others and fostering meaningful relationships. I want the people to know that when they become a part of something that’s greater than them, which is Cut Creaters Enterprise, it’s going to be one of the best things that ever touched their lives.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Believe it or not, some people don’t know I’m the founder/CEO of Cut Creaters.
