Inspiring Conversations with Paris Johnson of The Healing Birthright

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Healing Birthright began in 2020, during a time when the world was collectively unraveling — and so were many people silently. While COVID forced everything to stop, it also forced a lot of us to feel things we had been avoiding for years. I was one of the voices who had to push past my own insecurities and self-doubt to show up for people who didn’t yet know how to show up for themselves. I didn’t feel fully “ready,” polished, or protected — but I felt responsible. What started as simple conversations, live sessions, and honest teachings became a space where people could finally exhale and be seen without judgment.

I wasn’t trying to build a business at the time; I was answering a call in real time. As I continued doing the work alongside the people I was serving, it became clear that healing couldn’t be rushed or compartmentalized. People weren’t broken — they were disconnected from themselves. That realization led me to shape what I had been doing organically into a holistic model that honored emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational healing as one integrated process.

Today, The Healing Birthright has evolved into a registered clinic rooted in the belief that healing is not a luxury or a trend , it’s a birthright. What began as obedience and authenticity has grown into purpose-driven work that supports individuals and families who are ready to move beyond survival and into true alignment. The mission has remained the same from the beginning: to help people remember who they are and reclaim the parts of themselves they were never meant to lose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road — but it has been an honest one. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to hold space for others while still tending to my own healing. I was growing in real time, often navigating visibility, responsibility, and vulnerability all at once. Showing up consistently meant confronting my own insecurities, imposter syndrome, and the pressure to have all the answers when the work itself was teaching me as I went.

Another struggle was learning how to protect the work. As the impact grew, so did the need for boundaries — with time, energy, expectations, and access. Turning something deeply personal and purpose-driven into something sustainable required uncomfortable decisions, clearer structure, and a willingness to outgrow versions of myself that were rooted in overgiving. There were moments of uncertainty, burnout, and recalibration, but each challenge refined the vision.

Looking back, the struggles weren’t detours, but instead they were the training ground. They taught me discernment, integrity, and how to lead without abandoning myself. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been deeply aligned, and every challenge helped shape The Healing Birthright into something grounded, intentional, and built to last.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Healing Birthright is a holistic mental health and wellness clinic rooted in the belief that healing is not a luxury, it’s a birthright. We specialize in integrated care that addresses emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational health as interconnected, not separate. Our work begins with a comprehensive intake process, allowing us to create customized healing plans rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions.

Our offerings include individual healing sessions, group programs, workshops, and curated curriculum designed to support both short-term breakthroughs and long-term transformation. We also provide seasonal and experiential offerings such as retreats, intensives, and creative or somatic-based healing experiences that support the body alongside the mind. Each client’s journey is assessed and adjusted along the way, ensuring the work remains responsive and intentional rather than rigid.

What sets The Healing Birthright apart is the balance between structure and humanity. This is not surface-level self-care or motivational language, it is deep, accountable work grounded in real-life application. We are known for creating safe, honest spaces where people can do meaningful healing without being rushed, judged, or “fixed.” Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the integrity of the work. Everything we offer has been built slowly and intentionally, shaped by lived experience rather than trends.

I want readers to know that The Healing Birthright is for people who are ready to move beyond survival and symptom management and into alignment and wholeness. This is a space for real healing, clear boundaries, and lasting change -from the inside out.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is watching people reconnect with themselves in ways they didn’t think were possible. Seeing someone take a deep breath and realize, “I don’t have to live like this anymore,” is incredibly fulfilling. Those moments, the clarity, the release, the quiet confidence that follows, are what remind me why I said yes to this work in the first place.

On a personal level, happiness also comes from living in alignment. I’m happiest when my life reflects what I teach, when my work, my faith, my boundaries, and my joy are in conversation with each other instead of competing. Being able to build something meaningful without abandoning myself in the process has been a gift. For me, happiness isn’t loud or flashy; it’s peace, purpose, and knowing I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
