Inspiring Conversations with Rhonda Savain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Savain.

Hi Rhonda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Determination! From the age of five, I always remember wanting to be a nurse. As I continued to mature the vision and passion of wanting to help others never left me. I attended a specialized Licensed Practical Nursing Program in HS and started my nursing career at the ripe age of 17. During this time I also enlisted in the United State Navy Reserves as A Hospital Corpsman. A drive to over – achieve has always been deeply rooted within.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been very bumpy at best. Two major struggles in life that really defined and emboldened me were Autism and Breast Cancer. At the age of two, in 1997 my son started rocking and banging his head. That was the beginning of a 25 years journey. From special education, speech therapy, multiple doctors, aggressive behaviors and bewilderment, it has not been easy. If the trauma and solitude of Autism were not enough, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, two years post-divorce. Nine years, 10 surgeries and 4 chemotherapy treatments later, I am grateful to be alive to tell the story. With the quandary of Autism, Breast Cancer, and Divorce looming I can say Autism is the most challenging of all. The good news is my son is 27 and now lives independently and I am Cancer free! The lesson is never give up!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Rhondasavain.com AKA Decisions Life Coaching- Rhonda Savain, Certified Teacher, Certified Professional Life Coach, provides coaching in several areas. Autism, Cancer, and Medication Management, Adolescents and Single Women are my niche. Virtual coaching is available thereby making me accessible in all 50 states and over 400 countries as long as Wi-Fi and a mobile device are available. I also do mobile coaching in the Atlanta area as well as in-person visits in (Fayetteville, GA). My personal experiences that I had to conquer in these special areas have allowed me to be compassionate and competent.

Ready to Pass Inc – Rhonda Savain RN MSN Director, Co-Owner – Provides tutoring for Licensed Practical and Registered Nursing students in school and post-graduation. We assist students to pass the NCLEX exam. This exam is required for the licensure of all nurses. In 2003, Derrice Gordon and I started the business in Long Island, New York to assist struggling nurses to pass their state boards. We have helped over 10,000 nursing students to be successful. We specialize in repeat test-takers and have recently helped a student pass on their 16th attempt. We are now offering monthly classes virtually and give live classes several times a year in New York, Florida, or New Jersey. By the year 2030, we are expected to have a shortage of “13 million nurses” I am happy to be a part of the solution.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Currently, I would love to collaborate with organizations or individuals providing care for Autism, Cancer, nursing students, underprivileged adolescents or mental health challenges. My passion to help others are in those aforementioned areas and I cannot do it alone. I would eventually like to be a philanthropist. Grants and funding are usually a challenge but I am open to conversations. One of my greatest challenges have been media coverage to advertise what I do. If anyone is willing to suggest media marketing ideas, I would welcome the opportunity. Having the ability and passion to provide great services are useless if no one can find you.
