Hi Sadè, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

Looking back on my journey, I believe my purpose has been unfolding since childhood. I always had a vision of working with major corporations, climbing the ladder of success, and making a significant impact. However, beyond my career aspirations, I was naturally gifted in several creative areas, which would later influence my entrepreneurial journey. In 2016, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of West Georgia and stepped into the corporate world, gaining invaluable experience in business operations. At the same time, my passion for hairstyling led me to start creating custom wig units, which turned into a side hustle that quickly gained traction.

Recognizing the demand for high-quality wigs and hair services, I officially launched my first business, The Wig Life, in 2021. As I built my brand, I faced the challenge of marketing and branding effectively—something that was crucial for my business’s growth. Finding the right resources and tools was overwhelming, so I took matters into my own hands. I immersed myself in learning everything I could about branding, marketing, and digital presence, teaching myself the techniques needed to create a strong and professional brand image. This self-taught knowledge proved invaluable, as it not only strengthened my business but also opened my eyes to a broader passion: helping others build and develop their brands.

In 2022, my corporate job was impacted by downsizing due to the economic effects of COVID-19. At the time, I was already in the process of relocating to Atlanta, and this unexpected shift forced me to make a tough but pivotal decision. Instead of searching for another job immediately, I took a leap of faith. I withdrew funds from my 401K and invested in launching my next venture—Strategic Master Consulting, a company dedicated to business and branding services. While growing my business, I also advanced my corporate career by transitioning into account management within the aerospace industry, further diversifying my skill set.

In 2023, I took my expertise to the next level by earning my Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. This achievement solidified my ability to merge strategic business practices with branding and marketing, allowing me to provide even greater value to my clients. Now, as I enter my third year in business, I leverage my educational background, corporate experience, creative skills, and entrepreneurial insights to help business owners build strong, strategic, and professional brands. By blending professionalism with creativity, I empower my clients with the tools they need to stand out, differentiate themselves, and gain a competitive edge in their industries.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been smooth in retrospect?

The journey has been anything but smooth, but every challenge has taught me valuable lessons and helped me develop resilience. Building a business from the ground up requires immense dedication, patience, and problem-solving skills. There were moments when I questioned whether I was on the right path, especially when facing financial constraints, learning curves, and the uncertainties that come with entrepreneurship. When I started The Wig Life, I had to juggle my corporate job while running my business, often working late nights, and sacrificing personal time to make my vision a reality.

One of the biggest struggles I faced was navigating the world of branding and marketing. Initially, I lacked the knowledge and resources to create a strong brand presence, which made it difficult to attract customers. However, instead of giving up, I took the time to educate myself, learning about graphic design, digital marketing strategies, and customer engagement techniques. This self-taught approach not only helped my business flourish but also inspired me to help other entrepreneurs who faced similar challenges.

Another major obstacle came in 2022 when my corporate job downsized. This was a turning point in my journey because I had to make a difficult decision—either search for another job immediately or take a risk and invest in my own business. I chose the latter, which was both terrifying and empowering. Entrepreneurship is unpredictable, and there were moments of financial instability, but I learned that success requires taking calculated risks and believing in your abilities even when the odds seem uncertain.

Looking back, I realize that the struggles were necessary for my growth. They forced me to become resourceful, disciplined, and innovative. The lessons I’ve learned—perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of continuous learning—have shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today. While the road hasn’t been smooth, every challenge has been an opportunity to learn, evolve, and push beyond my limits.

I am an accomplished Corporate Consultant with Syensqo and the visionary behind Strategic Master Consulting. My professional background spans business education, project management, customer advocacy, and entrepreneurship, allowing me to bring a well-rounded perspective to business strategy and branding. I’ve spent years honing my expertise in corporate consulting, specifically specializing in supply chain strategy for large-scale corporations, where my keen attention to detail has driven successful outcomes.

One of the most important lessons I learned from the COVID-19 crisis is the importance of building something of your own. The pandemic was a wake-up call for many professionals, highlighting the unpredictability of corporate jobs and traditional career paths. When my job was impacted by downsizing, I realized that relying solely on an employer for financial stability was not enough. That experience reinforced the need for ownership—whether it’s a business, a side hustle, or an independent skill set that can generate income outside of a 9-to-5 job.

The pandemic also taught me the value of adaptability. Business landscapes changed overnight, and companies that were able to pivot quickly survived, while others struggled. This lesson was crucial in my own entrepreneurial journey. I learned how to be flexible, embrace digital transformation, and find new ways to serve clients, even in uncertain times.

Another key takeaway was the importance of financial preparedness. Many businesses and individuals suffered due to a lack of savings or contingency plans. That experience encouraged me to make smarter financial decisions, ensuring that my business had multiple revenue streams and a strong financial foundation.

Ultimately, the biggest lesson was to trust my abilities and take control of my future. The crisis pushed me to take risks and invest in myself, which led to the creation of Strategic Master Consulting. Now, I encourage other entrepreneurs to do the same—to develop their skills, build their brands, and create something that no one can take away from them.
