Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabitha Efobi.
Hi Tabitha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Greetings! I am Dr. Tabitha Efobi. I am the oldest girl of seven children who was born driven and full of purpose. I was born in Raleigh, NC but raised in Virginia. My home is definitely among the hills and beaches of the east coast. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Then I received my dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Kentucky. I went on to complete an Advance Education in General Dentistry program at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Then practiced for 3 years as a general dentist, an experience that solidified my passion for working with kids, teens, and individuals with special needs. I decided to complete a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio, where I also received a Master’s in Oral Biology. After practicing as an associate in various clinical settings in North Carolina and Georgia, I decided to embark upon my dream of practice ownership. After patiently waiting, Grace Pediatric Dental Care was open in January 2023.
My family has always been my motivation and one of the biggest reasons I am where I am at this point in my life. I could call each of them out by name and share of how they have helped me on my journey but there is one name that I must highlight and that is of my dear Aunt Grace. My Aunt Grace epitomized what a woman was to me. She was a wife, mom, nurse, good listener, encourager, great cook, friend and breast cancer survivor. She brought joy to every room she walked in. Sadly, she passed away in December of 2013 due to a brain aneurysm. When I decided it was time to embark upon practice ownership, I knew there would be no better name for the practice that would speak to God’s grace over my life and honor her as well. Grace Pediatric Dental Care was the perfect name. Oftentimes, when I walk the halls of my practice, I am keenly aware of the peace and joy that truly embodies her spirit.
When not caring for children, I enjoy running/working out, traveling, cooking/baking, and volunteering both locally and internationally. I love spending quality time with my husband, two young sons, family, and friends.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has not been easy at all but I can honestly say that I am grateful for all of the challenges. Every hardship and every setback has been a part of my story and has given me a plenty of testimonies of God’s mercy and grace. I like to say that mountains are climbed one step at a time. The view is incredible but it’s each intentional step that matters the most. I’ll forever keep moving One. Step. At. A. Time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I moved to the area because of my family. I can honestly say that they are my favorite part of the city! Wherever I am with them is my favorite attraction. Also, I appreciate the diversity of the city. The food, the cultures, people of all different shades – I’m grateful for it all!
