Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammi Smith.
Hi Tammi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began in 2011, when surgery and chemotherapy left me needing a side hustle to cover bills while I was out of work. While I’d always dabbled in side projects, this need was different. While brainstorming simple ways to earn extra cash, I remembered that wholesale jewelry was inexpensive, offering a quick profit potential given its popularity. I already had a sales tax ID and local vendors from a previous business. As the day wore on, returning to work after surgery and fighting for chemo appointments, feeling overworked and fatigued, the name “Jaded” came to mind. Thus, “Jaded Jewelry” was born.
A few years later, dealing with dry skin and chemo-related issues from the treatments, I was introduced to body butter. I researched ingredients and techniques, and started making my own moisturizers. My husband encouraged me to share them, so in May 2018, “Jaded Body Butter” was launched. Today, I’ve expanded into a luxury facial skincare line, “Jaded Beauty,” continuing my commitment to clean, radiant skincare. While I’m no longer selling jewelry, I’m thriving with Jaded Body Butter and Jaded Beauty.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle has been researching ingredients to ensure they deliver the desired benefits for each product. As someone with sensitive skin, it was crucial that they worked for me, blended well in formulations, and created aesthetically pleasing products.
We’ve been impressed with The Jaded Business Brand, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Under the umbrella of The Jaded Business Brand, LLC, I formulate products that provide ultimate hydration for those with dry skin. Jaded Body Butter utilizes all-natural butters to deliver deep, daily moisture. At Jaded Beauty we offer a luxury skincare line specializing in facial care, using non-toxic yet powerful ingredients to deliver a mirror-like glow. Additionally, I am an Independent Medical Consultant. With 29 years in the medical industry with Revenue Cycle Management experience, I transitioned from a Full-Time Employee to a Full-Time Entrepreneur. I am most proud of transforming a job I was about to abandon, after working hard in the medical industry and feeling jaded, along with turning one of the toughest illnesses I’ve faced into something I now love doing daily.

I want to share that the saying “dreams do come true” is genuinely true, especially when you start your business right where you are. It’s not just a saying; dreams are meant to be pursued. Keep dreaming and keep pursuing!
