Inspiring Conversations with Tashia Stafford of Charmed Visions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tashia Stafford.

Hi Tashia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started with a vision. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and eventually moved to Atlanta to attend GSU. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film/TV and music business. While in college, I interned at Sony Music for two years in various A&R departments. Unfortunately, they did not have a job opening approaching the time of my graduation. I started wondering how I could introduce myself to the music industry upon graduation to secure employment.

My job as an intern at Sony consisted of going to showcases and looking for talent. I often loathed attending these events because of how dreadfully disorganized the showcases were. They never started on time, the sound was often horrible, and the talent was sub-par. And then it hit me: pulling together one of the best showcases ATL has ever seen would put my organization skills clearly on display to the industry.

To accomplish this feat, I formed my company Enlight Entertainment and went straight to work—with no budget but boundless determination. I gave myself six months to accomplish my goal. By leveraging existing professional relationships, I acquired financial support from EMI Publishing and ASCAP, with the latter organization officially sponsoring the showcase and paying for the venue and food. I also bartered rehearsal space and studio production time to record promotional audio throughout the showcase. After seeking out and vetting next-level talent and songs for the showcase, I secured two featured artists that were signed to major labels.

Bottom line: if you have a vision, you can accomplish big things without a big initial investment. Reach out and grab your dream. All my planning and efforts for the showcase paid off. The executive director of Elektra Records happened to be at the event and was so impressed with it that he asked to interview me for the position of his full-time administrative assistant. That’s when my journey truly went into overdrive!

After I had been working for Elektra in the admin capacity for about a year, my boss got fired. I was in turn let go, not because of something that I did, but due to someone else’s actions. I didn’t like that feeling and decided right then and there that I didn’t want to ride the music industry roller coaster any longer. My next move: transitioning my company to Enlight Entertainment Services, Inc. as a newly minted entrepreneur. I offered administrative assistant services to A-list music producers, working with some of the biggest names in the music industry. I eventually hired two assistants to help with the care and feeding of my growing enterprise. Being featured in Billboard Magazine and recognized by then-Atlanta-Mayor Kasim Reed as one of Atlanta’s “Powerprenuers” burnished my brand. Soon I was providing A&R administrative services to artists like Justin Bieber, Akon, and Chris Brown.

Enter my next vision: Since a lot of what I did for my clients was book studio time, why not build my own studio and pocket the dividends of those bookings directly? And as earlier in my career, with zero budget, I set out to accomplish my new goal. Through relationships, the grace of God, and a series of serendipitous events, my husband and I became the owners of one of the most elite recording studios in Midtown Atlanta.

Throughout this entire process, I was obsessed with creating vision boards. In fact, my entire house basically ended up as one big vision board. When I became interested in starting another business focused on the journey of self-fulfillment, I thought to myself, “I got where I am by having a vision. So how can I help others formulate their vision and also help raise the vibration of the entire planet?” Fast forward to 2021, and Charmed Visions was born. I’ve developed an app and a website where users can create a vision board in minutes vs. hours and turn it into a wearable version. Being able to take your vision board with you wherever you go is a game changer. It helps you stay focused on your goals, serving as a constant reminder and inspiring you throughout your day. And any life journey is more fulfilling with vividly beautiful mile markers along the way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Though I ran into typical entrepreneurial business challenges throughout my career, my biggest obstacles have been health-related. While happily at the helm of Enlight Entertainment in 2005, I had a bout with Bell’s Palsy—and won. Shortly after opening the doors to Icon Studios ATL in 2009, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis—and beat that, too. In 2015, an inflammation of the spinal cord called transverse myelitis tried to take me down—but again, I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and soldiered on.

My biggest battle came in 2022, right before I was to launch Charmed Visions. I went into the hospital for a routine surgery during which my aorta was accidentally cut. As a result, I bled out three times and descended into an acute, potentially deadly blood clotting condition. The doctors later told me that at that point, I was within three minutes of death. After the triage measures taken to save my life, I ended up on ventilator, spending 20 days in the hospital and months of recovery at home afterwards. But again, I emerged victorious.

As you can see, dark energy has tried to stop me at every turn, but I was determined by vision. It carried me through every time, which is why I believe so deeply in its importance. Despite all the huge hurdles in my path, I’m living proof that all things are possible if you believe in the vision you have for your life. Circumstances conspired to make me a victim. But that is not part of my vision. In my vision, I am a victor. And I have the record of resilience to prove it!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Charmed Visions, LLC?
I believe that we create our own reality through our thoughts and actions. We all have a vision for our life because we are living in that vision daily (for better or worse). So why not make a conscious decision to create a positive one? While I am grateful for the previous companies that I have founded, my new journey has led me to launch a more consciousness-centric business that will help raise the vibration of the planet.

Charmed Visions is one such enterprise with two primary offerings. The first is a simple method for people to help realize their dreams by creating a wearable version of their vision. Gone are the days of creating traditional vision boards with poster boards, glue, scissors and magazine clippings. Now users can create their vision board in minutes vs. hours right from their phone. We have a website and an iPhone and android app. It’s as simple as going online and finding eight images of things that relate to your vision. It could be a dream house, car, or vacation. Or it might be a goal, such as weight loss, a job promotion, wealth or health. The user simply saves the chosen images to his or her phone’s photo gallery. The user then logs into the Charmed Visions website, chooses his or her bracelet size (including a larger size for men) and preferred bracelet color (with four available colors). Once the ordering process is completed, your inspiring new wearable vision board will arrive in days. Now users can keep visual representations of their goals and visions with them—morning, noon, and night–helping them to stay focused, motivated, and on task.

Our second offering is a stunning photo bracelet that sparks joy in the hearts of our customers. Whether the bracelet consists of images of one’s spouse, new baby, grandkids, or fur kids, the goal is for users to wear what speaks to them. We’ve created bracelets memorializing customers’ major life events, such as weddings, vacations, family reunions, and loss of a loved one. Basically, the sky is the limit. I am extremely proud of this business because opening a Charmed Visions box that’s just arrived on your doorstep makes for the ultimate wow moment with a smile!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
These days, I pretty much just watch a lot of programming on the Gaia and Mindvally apps and other positive programming on YouTube channels like Even Carmichael, Lewis Howe, Aaron Abke, Joe Dispenza, VYBO, etc. I also read a lot of blogs and other content on the IFundWomen platform. Books that inspire me are the all-time favorite “Think And Grow Rich” by Napolean Hill and “The Game Of Life And How To Play It” by Florance Scovel Shinn.
