Inspiring Conversations with Tiffany Christopher of TLC ATHLETICS LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Christopher.

Hi Tiffany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Before becoming a business owner, I was juggling several part-time roles, all rooted in caring for children and helping them grow. I worked as a nanny, provided nanny and daycare services, and coached gymnastics in the evenings. At the time, I wasn’t chasing entrepreneurship; I was simply doing work that felt meaningful and fulfilling, even if it meant piecing together multiple jobs to make it work.
In 2020, everything changed. When COVID hit, the gym where I coached shut down, and suddenly the routine and stability I relied on disappeared. During the lockdown, several parents from the gym reached out and asked if I would be willing to coach their children at home. What began as a temporary solution during an uncertain time quickly gained momentum. Families started referring me to others, and before long, I found myself creating a full weekly schedule of in-home sessions. Without realizing it, I had pivoted into a mobile gymnastics business, built entirely on trust, relationships, and word of mouth.

That summer became a defining moment in my journey. One of my clients believed so strongly in what I was building that she paid for me to officially form an LLC. Shortly after, I hosted my very first summer camp in Tucker, Georgia. That experience was transformational. It was the first time I truly saw my vision come to life, and it confirmed that this wasn’t just a temporary pivot; it was the beginning of something lasting.

In 2021, I took a leap of faith and rented a small space in downtown Stone Mountain, officially opening TLC Athletics. What started as a small mobile operation grew into a full gymnastics facility and a thriving community. TLC Athletics became more than just a gym; it became a place where young athletes built confidence, discipline, and resilience, and where families felt supported and connected.

From 2021 through December 2024, we grew steadily, weathering the normal challenges of small business ownership while building something I was deeply proud of.
Behind the scenes, that growth was happening alongside some of the most difficult moments of my life. During that time, I lost my uncle, and I also faced a serious health scare that required the removal of a cancerous tumor. These experiences forced me to slow down, reevaluate, and lead with intention, even when things felt overwhelming. Then, in late 2024, our facility flooded, forcing us to relocate unexpectedly. Losing our space was devastating, but it also became a moment of reflection and renewal.
Today, in 2026, TLC Athletics is operating out of a new space, and the business is continuing to grow. What began as a collection of part-time jobs and a pandemic pivot has evolved into a sustainable, purpose-driven small business.

Every challenge, personal, professional, and physical, helped shape TLC and the leader I’ve become. Looking back, I see that TLC Athletics wasn’t built overnight. It was built through resilience, love and an unwavering commitment to showing up, even when the path forward was uncertain. I’m beyond grateful and proud of myself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When I started TLC Athletics, I knew nothing about running a business. I was still in school working toward my bachelor’s degree in sports management, while simultaneously trying to build something from the ground up. I was learning in real time how to manage finances, structure programs, market myself, and make decisions, often through trial and error. Balancing school, work, and entrepreneurship required discipline and sacrifice, and there was no clear roadmap to follow.

Beyond the learning curve of business ownership, I also faced significant personal challenges. One of the hardest seasons of my life came when I lost my uncle and was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor that needed to be removed in the same year.

During that time, I began experiencing panic attacks, something I had never dealt with before. Trying to process grief, manage my health, and continue leading a growing business pushed me mentally and emotionally in ways I never anticipated. Some days, simply showing up felt like a major accomplishment.
In late 2024, I encountered another major setback when our facility flooded, forcing us to relocate unexpectedly. Losing the space we had built our community in was heartbreaking, especially after years of steady growth. However, that challenge like the others, forced me to adapt, reflect, and rebuild with greater clarity and strength.

The journey has been far from easy, but every struggle strengthened my foundation as both a business owner and a person. Learning from the ground up, while navigating personal loss and health challenges, taught me perseverance, empathy, and the importance of leading with intention.

We’ve been impressed with TLC ATHLETICS LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Looking ahead, my long-term vision for TLC Athletics is to grow it into a full-scale youth sports complex. A one-stop destination for athletes ages 2 to 18. The goal is to offer a wide range of sports and elite training programs under one roof, allowing athletes to develop well-rounded skills with top-tier coaching and resources.

A core part of my long-term vision is for TLC Athletics to be a true developmental pipeline, where athletes can grow with us from early childhood all the way through college preparation. I want athletes to be able to transition from TLC Athletics directly into collegiate programs with the skills, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed at the next level.
That means not only elite physical training, but also education around work ethic, accountability, mental toughness, and long-term athletic development. The goal is to prepare athletes for college athletics and for life beyond sport by giving them a strong, well-rounded foundation from the very beginning

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I have so many, because my parents are amazing but I think one of my favorites was going to baseball games with my dad. Also, going to track practice with my step father.

I’ve always loved sports and I ran track all my life. I attended bowling green university in Ohio for track and it was one of the best experiences.
