Inspiring Conversations with Tiffany Haywood

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Haywood.

Tiffany Haywood

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started my journey as a Lifestyle Blogger a little over ten years ago. I was a SAHM with 3 Kiddies under three and needed an outlet, a connection to anyone taller than 2 feet! So, my blog was a way to share thoughts, feedback, moments, and memories.

In over a year, I began to see how it could be so much more. This was before ‘media influencing’ was truly a thing. It wasn’t recognized as anything more than an online journal. Yet big brands were beginning to notice how the review of a real mom could have a bigger impact and influence than a studio commercial. I was excited and saw this could be a business, not just a hobby.

I registered my LLC and began to work. I was one of the first Bloggers to join my local Chamber of Commerce, be added to City Press Release lists, and be invited to events as a Press. It was a journey, and many steps were taken blindly, but from that beginning, I was able to develop my brand into what it is today: more than a Blog, a resource for small businesses, brands, and my community.

A few years after I began my LLC, I realized I wasn’t the only Blogger looking to move beyond monetizing – we were business owners. Then I began my Blog & Brand Consultation – TiffanyHaywood.com – which evolved into a one-stop Brand Consultation business. I provide SHEpreneurs, business owners, non-profits, churches, and community organizations everything they need to thrive on social media and impact their followers through their stories.
After all, social media is all about being social!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? No. I’ve had obstacles and detours, much like you do on any path, but they’ve all taught me something new, not only about what I am pursuing but also about myself. I shared how I was one of the first Bloggers in my city to present myself as a true business. I wasn’t always accepted in that way.
I remember the first time I attended an event as a press. I was looking for my assigned seat in the press section, and a news reporter looked me up and down and told me I was in the wrong section. I smiled and said, “Actually, no, here’s my seat!” I moved my name tag over, and when he saw it said Blogger—Press Section, he didn’t even apologize. He just gave another look and a huff.

This situation repeated itself often. Different event. Different reporter. Same reaction. Yet as I established myself through my work, my professionalism, and my quality – it was slowly replaced with respect. I value the work it took to gain that and I even understand why it wasn’t automatically given.
Flash forward 10+ years, and being a Media/Digital Influencer is now a job title—I am proud to say I remember when, but even prouder to say look where we are.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about It’s Me, Tee LLC?
It’s Me, Tee LLC was established in 2018 as the foundation for my blog (TheMrsTee) now known as It’s Me, Tee. It is also the parent company of my Brand Consultation business, Tiffany Haywood Brand Consultations. Each of these business ventures was founded on the belief that no business owner, no matter how small, should struggle to gain the social media influence and impact they need to succeed.

Through my blog, I provide social media coverage to businesses and organizations who need live content curated specifically for their brand and shared across both my social media presence and theirs. I guarantee those who attend will have moments to remember, and those who didn’t will always wish they had and be certain they do in the future. My event coverage ranges from video creation for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and websites to recap and reviews on my blog. My blog is where I “Share My Moments & Create Memories.”

As a Brand Consultant, I offer tips, tools, and support to teach business owners how to share what makes them unique and connect with potential clients, customers, partners, and collaborators through that. My services include customized packages for SOLOpreneurs, Entrepreneurs, Non-Profits, Small Businesses, and Expanding and Growing Businesses—no matter what your level, I support you as you “Build Your Business By Building Your Brand.”

Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Google Calendar. Many people have asked and wondered how I can balance being a Mom to 5, 4 of whom are still in the home, two businesses, the content of multiple clients, a part-time job, and all the other things – my calendar is the one connecting point between them all. I tell my Kiddies: “If it isn’t on the calendar, it isn’t happening.” LOL

Honeybook is how I propose new packages and services to clients, organize, communicate, bill, and track current projects. Acuity is how I present my packages, accept payments and schedule consultations. Oh, and yes, they both sync with my Google Calendar.

Lastly, I would have to say my music app – I work best with music. My playlist can go from contemporary Christian to 90s R&B over to classical and then mix in a bit of pop. I love nearly all genres and make use of the suggested lists often.
