Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tiffiani Tarver.
Hi Tiffiani, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I traveled to Chicago while pregnant with my 3rd child. I took a candle-making class while there. My job hours were limited and everyone was getting sick around me. I had to do something to earn an income and stay safe. Once I took the class, I realized how therapeutic the process was.
Once I returned home, I purchased supplies. I was excited to create something I could share with others that would “light up” the rooms, and spirits, and also bring calm to any situation. I love to see people smile and enjoy things. Making candles and accessories gives me peace and allows me the chance to exuberant energy to others.
When I participate in the POP-UP events or public events held around the Atlanta area, I am always excited to meet new people. It genuinely makes me happy to watch people smell the different scents and try to guess what’s inside or plan where to put them inside their homes. I am currently working on expanding and attempting to do more marketing around the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has definitely not been a smooth road. I struggle with sales due to marketing and trying to maintain a corporate 9 to 5 job. And a life with underaged children. I have exhausted all funds starting this journey on my own. Although it has not been easy, I am still trying to see the positives, keep pushing, and find a way to stay encouraged daily.
We’ve been impressed with Sensual Scents, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Sensual Scents LLC; I specialize in homemade soy candles, oils, plug-ins, coming soon carpet fresheners, and jewelry accessories. I have participated in many events around the Atlanta area from 2020 to now. I am most proud of the friendships/partnerships and potential partnerships I have made with other like-minded individuals.
There are so many other brands that specialize in similar products as I do, and the market is very competitive, so I’d like to build something more solid and concrete, something that will also allow me to give back to the community. My first step will be to step up a class where I will offer tutorials to registered customers and individuals within the community.
