Inspiring Conversations with Tijana Eby of healthyBEing Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tijana Eby

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was raised by formidable women, champions of self-advocacy and family support, who instilled these values in me. In my practice, my sole aspiration has been to foster an environment where women can embrace this philosophy.
From my earliest recollections, I recall my grandmother, mother, and aunt resorting to natural remedies for tending to our family’s well-being. Their focus always revolved around food, nutrition, and holistic methods. Despite our urban setting in Bosnia, they went to great lengths to circumvent unnecessary medical consultations and costly pharmaceuticals, often leaning towards the simple adage of “just rub some dirt on it”!
While my approach has evolved far beyond applying dirt, the essence of this philosophy has remained, and I am profoundly thankful for its enduring influence.
Seeing how chiropractic can affect one’s life naturally and embracing the body’s profound intrinsic ability toward healing and vitality, I chose chiropractic to serve others out of sense of love, purpose, and abundance. My practice is dedicated to individuals and their families across all life stages, ranging from newborns to grandparents and every phase in between.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think that there’s a entrepreneur that has ever had a smooth sailing toward making their passion work. I started small…so small with a chiropractic table and a handful of friends who were willing to pay for my services from the beginning. And that’s when the real work began to get to know the people in my community, volunteering my time with different community groups, and keeping an open-door policy to connect with other care providers, especially among other birth professionals. Since the word-of-mouth approach takes some time, I was patient in putting myself in the right places and with like-minded people, which over time worked in my favor.
Some of the main struggles for me have been even within myself, working on boosting my confidence, setting appropriate boundaries with my time and energy, and staying patient.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about healthyBEing Wellness?
I am the owner, chiropractor, and integrative health professional at HealthyBEing Wellness. I provide guidance and instruction on incorporating the physical, mental, and biochemical aspects of your health by giving you the tools and holistic support needed to live the life you want. Most of my patients are looking for ways to integrate the physical, physiological (the inner workings of your body), and mental aspects to create a healthier lifestyle. When there is already so much going on in everyday life, it can be hard to find time to plan and make lifestyle changes. I provide guidance and instruction on incorporating these dimensions and empowering women and their families to confront life’s obstacles with vigor and resolve. Life is always easier when you have someone to walk beside you, and I would love to be their functional health support.

I am passionate about being able to provide gentle, effective, supportive care for growing families as they approach the road to parenthood, which is why I am a Webster’s Certified ICPA Chiropractor, as well as a DTI Certified birth and postpartum doula and a childbirth educator. In addition, I offer complimentary modalities that include infrared sauna and red light therapy, Reiki, cupping, or soft tissue mobilization. To support healing, I utilize functional testing with tailored lab work, GI-Mapping, nutritional support and body work help provide the information we need to create a healthy lifestyle plan. Sometimes just stepping out of our day-to-day routine to focus on self-care in a safe space is enough. Other times clients might need a little more support through positive reinforcement, meditation, and movement.

How do you define success?
One of the ways I define success in my practice is by having patients leave my practice each visit feeling better than when they came through the door. My goal is always to empower my patients to take charge of their health and wellness; to create a safe space for them to be seen and heard, without dismissing the concerns that matter to them; and to help them discover creative solutions for how to live their best lives.
