Inspiring Conversations with Zach Ross of Ross Family Karate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Ross.

Zach Ross

Zach, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been training in martial arts since the age of six it was my lifelong goal to one day open my own karate school so I could share my karate knowledge and pass it on to the next generation. I was finally able to accomplish that goal in 2006 and have grown my business over the last 17 years. My studio train martial artist from the age of 4 & up.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a business, you always have to be prepared for any bumps in the road. By far, the hardest obstacle I have faced was during the COVID-19 Shutdown.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a family-owned and operated Martial Arts school located in the Lithonia/ Stonecrest area. We teach karate to kids and adults. We also focus on character development and helping kids gain confidence, self-control, self-discipline and build their moral character. We also are a competitive school where many of our students are National and World Champions.

How do you define success?
Success is being able to set a goal and achieve it. I find myself being successful in being able to be in business for close to 20 years and being able to make a difference in my community. My greatest success is when students I’ve trained over the years accomplish their goals, both long & short-term.
