Jasmine Allen of Tallahassee Florida on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Jasmine Allen and have shared our conversation below.

Jasmine, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are a mix of mom life and mindset. I have two kids, so mornings start with getting them up, dressed, fed, and out the door, one to the bus stop and the other to daycare. Those moments, even in the chaos, keep me grounded and remind me why I’m building what I’m building.

Once they’re settled, I take a little time for myself a quiet cup of herbal tea, a quick prayer, and a look over my intentions for the day. It’s not just about a checklist, it’s about staying connected to the bigger vision for Jazi Kreations. If I have time, I’ll sketch new cake ideas or brainstorm creative projects. That first part of the day sets the tone — it’s where my roles as a mom, a creator, and a business owner all come together.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jasmine Allen, the cake artist and founder behind Jazi Kreations, a luxury custom cake studio built on the belief that dessert should be more than something sweet, it should be a story you can taste. What started as a home-based passion project in 2019 has grown into a brand known for turning cake into art, from hand-painted wedding creations to bold, custom celebration pieces that reflect each client’s style and story.

What makes Jazi Kreations unique is the heart behind every design. I’m deeply inspired by the people I bake for brides dreaming of a cake that mirrors their gown, families celebrating milestones, or someone simply wanting a dessert that feels unforgettable. Every detail is intentional, from the flavor pairings to the visual design, because I believe luxury isn’t just how something looks, it’s how it makes you feel.

Right now, I’m currently building out and working towards opening a cake boutique storefront that blends artistry, experience, and community; a place where people can enjoy custom cakes, learn through workshops, and find the tools to create their own edible art. My mission is bigger than baking; it’s about building a legacy that inspires creativity, celebrates life’s moments, and shows what’s possible when you follow your passion.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I wouldn’t say there was one single moment that shaped how I see the world, it was more of a chapter. Serving eight years in the Army National Guard had a huge impact on me. That experience introduced me to people from every background imaginable and opened my eyes to so many different ways of thinking, living, and approaching life. It taught me discipline, resilience, and how to adapt, but more importantly, it taught me empathy and perspective.

Those lessons stuck with me and shape everything I do today. They taught me that there’s no one ‘right’ way to build a life or a dream ; that creativity, possibility, and strength can look different for everyone. That mindset is at the heart of Jazi Kreations. It’s why I approach each cake as a unique story, why I like to connect with my clients, and why I’m building something that celebrates individuality. That time in the military shaped not just how I see the world, but how I show up in it.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me lessons that success never could; patience, perspective, and an unshakable faith in God’s timing. In the hardest seasons, when nothing seemed to go as planned, get dead broke and the weight felt too heavy to carry, I learned to lean on something bigger than myself. My faith reminded me that even in the struggle, there’s purpose being shaped, lessons being learned and strength being built.

Those moments taught me that resilience isn’t just about pushing through, it’s about trusting that God is guiding you, even when the path isn’t clear. They deepened my compassion, sharpened my perseverance, and gave me the courage to keep going when giving up and going back to a 9-5 felt easier. And that perspective has become the foundation of how I live, how I raise my children, and how I build Jazi Kreations. Every cake, every dream, every new chapter is a reflection of that faith and a reminder that even the hardest days are part of something beautiful in the making.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! The public version of me is the real me, just shared with a little more intention. What you see online or through Jazi Kreations isn’t a persona I put on, it’s truly who I am at the core. The same woman designing luxury wedding cakes and building a brand is the one dropping kids off in a messy bun, stained shirt or oversized hoodie, sometimes ashy skin and probably mismatched socks. Honestly, if you see me out in public, there’s a good chance I look like I just escaped from the kitchen, because I probably did.

I don’t believe in pretending to be perfect. Life is busy, motherhood is real, and running a business is messy and I embrace all of it. The heart, the humor, the hustle, that’s me. While some moments are just for my family and my faith, the purpose and passion you see in my work are exactly who I am every single day. I hope people see more than cakes when they see my brand, I hope they see a real woman building something meaningful and joyful, one buttercream-covered day at a time

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think if I retired tomorrow, my customers would miss the heart behind everything I create. Yes, they’d miss the taste of the cakes, the artistry, the attention to detail but more than that, they’d miss the experience that comes with every order. My clients know I pour a piece of myself into every order. I listen closely to their stories, their vision, and their emotions, and I go that extra mile to translate that into something edible and unforgettable.
That’s what I hope they’d miss the most.
