We recently had the chance to connect with Jayda Martin and have shared our conversation below.
Jayda, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is juggling twelve things at once: an iced coffee, a pitch deck, toddler ballet classes, homeschooling materials, postpartum fitness, and a global campaign. That’s my normal.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jayda, a Brand Builder, Speaker, Creator, and currently the Director of Brand Partnerships at Earthpix and Damier Media, one of the largest travel media brands in the world.
With ten years of experience, I’ve grown a freelance journey into a full-blown career. Everything I do is with heart and brand at the center: storytelling, strategy, culture, and content. I’m currently working on multiple global campaigns, prepping my team for 2026, and focused on giving energy to areas where I can make the most impact.
Outside of my work for Earthpix, I create content to advocate for women who are ambitious, driven, and seeking clarity in their careers and lives. I’m also a mother of three wonderful babies and wife to my college sweetheart, Conner.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was ambitious before I knew that word could scare people. Evergreen with ideas, curious, and ready to lead even when it made others uncomfortable.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding the day I sat in my car after a doctor’s appointment and stared at the steering wheel, completely numb. I had just lost a pregnancy. I was deep in postpartum depression and miserable at work. I remember thinking, there has to be more to life than this.
That month, I started therapy, quit my job, and we packed our bags and moved home. That was the beginning of our “turn it around” season. We’ve had other hard seasons since, but that was the moment I stopped pretending I was fine and started building a life and brand I actually love — one that loves me back.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That there’s a formula for growth. That business plans can be copied/pasted. I’m utterly burnt out on brand blueprints and plug-and-play marketing – it’s ineffective; there’s no context. Brand building requires clarity, lived experience, and a deep understanding of the culture you want to reach via storytelling. I think a lot of people are building for the algorithm, and it shows.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I’m a woman who was always seen failing forward, entertaining her next outlandish ideas, and giving every piece of her heart to the loonshots that just might be massive breakthroughs.
