We’re looking forward to introducing you to Randy A. Waczkowski. Check out our conversation below.
Randy A., really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
For a while, I hesitated to fully embrace the role of being a community leader. Now, Name’s Blue Media is being called to step into that space with intention. Through our public relations work, event coverage, and documentary filmmaking, we’re not just telling stories—we’re helping bridge the communication gap between local governments and their citizens, as well as local stories that go unheard. Transparency and authentic storytelling are more important than ever, and we’re committed to amplifying those voices, highlighting community impact, and ensuring that people feel seen and heard.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Randy, and I serve as the Executive Director of Name’s Blue Media, a media production company built on the belief that storytelling has the power to connect people and spark meaningful conversations. At Name’s Blue Media, we provide visual productions, auditory compositions, and project administration with a focus on inspiring and engaging audiences through captivating experiences. What makes us unique is how we merge innovative technology with artistic vision—not just to create content, but to set new standards in media production. Our work spans public relations, documentaries, and community storytelling, and right now, we’re especially focused on bridging the gap between local governments and citizens by providing transparent, impactful narratives that highlight the voices and stories that matter most.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I wouldn’t say I felt powerful, but I did feel the weight of influence. My earliest memory of that came in high school, when I wrote a speech about advocacy and injustice within our education system for a public speaking class. I spoke passionately about the changes that we students needed and how leadership had fallen short in guiding our development. When I finished, the class rose in a standing ovation. In that moment, I realized the strength of using my voice not just for myself, but for others—that words have the power to move people, create dialogue, and inspire change.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely—there have been many moments when I’ve thought about giving up, even recently. The weight of leadership, creativity, and responsibility can feel overwhelming at times. But I’ve learned that it’s okay to pause, to breathe, and to acknowledge when things are heavy and take a moment. Sometimes others have even stepped in and encouraged me not to give up when things got hard as well, and I truly appreciate their support. Reflection doesn’t mean defeat—it’s part of growth. What keeps me going is knowing that the work I do through Name’s Blue Media comes from a place of heart, passion, and integrity. Giving up would mean walking away from something that has the power to inspire others, strengthen communities, and create that lasting impact for generations to come. When your purpose aligns with service and storytelling, you realize that even in moments of doubt, the mission is bigger than you. Rest if you must—but never give up on what was placed in your heart to build.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the media and creative industries tell themselves is that success is measured solely by visibility and numbers—likes, views, or followers. The truth is, authentic impact can’t be quantified by analytics alone. Our industry often glorifies the spotlight while overlooking the power of integrity, purpose, and storytelling that actually serve communities. At Name’s Blue Media, we’ve learned that meaningful media isn’t just about production value—it’s about connection, truth, and responsibility. When you focus on telling real stories that inform, inspire, and unite people, the influence lasts far longer than a trending post ever could.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I’ve learned that when you’re walking in purpose, external validation becomes secondary to internal fulfillment. There have been many seasons in my journey where no one was clapping, no one was watching, and no one was offering words of encouragement or even believed in the vision—but the work still mattered. The mission still mattered. For me, it’s about doing something that aligns with your integrity, faith, and passion, even if no one ever acknowledges it, because it is bigger than you.
In this industry, it’s easy to chase after the virality or recognition, but I’ve found that the real reward is knowing that what I create through Name’s Blue Media can uplift someone, inspire hope, or build understanding within a community. That’s worth more than any applause. Giving my best isn’t about who’s watching—it’s about honoring the gift I’ve been entrusted with by God and the responsibility that comes with it.
Some of the most impactful moments in my career weren’t celebrated publicly or even at all at times. They would sometimes be quiet reflective moments—helping tell a local story that changed a perspective, producing an event coverage that helps the community know about the resources available to them, or just seeing someone’s eyes light up because they finally felt seen. Those moments remind me that purpose doesn’t need praise; it just needs consistency, heart, and faith.
So yes, I would and WILL give everything my best—even if no one ever praised me for it—because fulfillment comes from knowing you’re doing what you were called to do, not from how loudly the world acknowledges it.
