We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephanie D. Williams . Check out our conversation below.
Stephanie D. , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
That’s a great question. Taking time to do activities that return me to my true self and personal interests has been one of life’s most powerful paths to joy and balance. I’m deeply devoted to self-care, so I carve out time for long nature walks with my dog and spending silent time watching the sun rise and set—these are self focused rituals that restore my energy and keep me grounded. I also lose myself in creative spaces, whether rearranging a room, planning a family gathering, or experimenting with a new recipe. As an event professional, I enjoy turning ordinary moments into something truly meaningful especially in my personal life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Stephanie D. Williams, Principal and Creative Director of Event Logistics & Consulting—a boutique event management agency creating high-impact experiences that inspire attendees including customer event registration designs. The programs I design and manage include, luxury executive retreats, corporate/pharmaceutical small meetings and conferences, branded style shoots for individuals and small businesses that rely on a personal or creative brand to attract clients. Our clientele receive premium services for hospitality consulting to improve company operations, event strategies, customer experiences and retention, and ROI profitability.
My life is not only filled with responsiblites for my business. I live between Atlanta, Georgia, and my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, with my beloved fur baby, Dominam Penicer, who fills my days with joy and energy. I love exploring flavors from around the world by cooking international dishes, and hosting is one of my favorite ways to connect with others. From cozy breakfast gatherings to elegant dinner parties with friends, I always strive to create a welcoming atmosphere where great food and meaningful conversation come together.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The most influential relationship in my life is with my mother. From my earliest years through the start of my career, she instilled in me a deep appreciation for organization, strategic thinking, and the value of building lasting relationships. These lessons became the foundation of my approach to entrepreneurship and to managing high-profile events and meetings, where every detail matters as much as the big picture—and remain a guiding force behind Event Logistics & Consulting’s success.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Trust your instincts—they’re sharper than you think.” Early in my career, I found myself included in meetings with influential community and business leaders, yet I often hesitated to speak up or share an opinion because I was the youngest in the room. Over time, I discovered two important truths: listening is a key component of communication, and trusting my perspective is one of the greatest strengths I can bring to any conversation. Leaning into all conversation with an open prespective and asking engaging questions has allowed me to build a thriving business that serves a wider vision while excelling in creative micro niches—delivering specialized experiences that make a lasting impact. I’m proud of my younger self for having the courage to trust her inner voice.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the most persistent myths in the hospitality industry is that “bigger is always better.” The truth? Strategic intention delivers far more value than size alone. For example, an advisory board meeting with 30 engaged participants can generate stronger outcomes than a conference of 300 passive attendees.
At Event Logistics & Consulting, we focus on strategic impact—designing every element of a program to align with clear business objectives. Trends will always come and go, but a tailored event strategy grounded in solid ROI goals and intentional attendee engagement is what creates long-term success.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am absolutely doing what I was born to do. Event management is the perfect blend for my creativity, attention to detail, and passion for bringing people together in ways that create meaningful change. Whether it’s a pharmaceutical sales meeting, a corporate incentive program, or a multi-day leadership summit, my work is about shaping experiences that extend far beyond the event itself—building relationships, delivering value, and leaving a legacy that truly resonates. Event management isn’t just my profession—it’s in my DNA.
