Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Suvwe Ene of Midtown

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Suvwe Ene. Check out our conversation below.

Suvwe, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is a balancing act that requires focus, dedication, and excellent time management.

I start my day centered on my family. My husband and I work together to get the girls ready and off to daycare. This routine demands efficiency and partnership, skills I bring to my business every single day.

Once that personal commitment is handled, my professional day begins immediately. I head directly to the store, where I transition into CEO mode. My time there is structured around three critical pillars:

Planning: I start by outlining the day’s priorities, reviewing order fulfillment schedules, and mapping out the week’s goals for both the retail and mobile divisions.

Strategy: This involves assessing recent sales data, reviewing customer feedback from our custom scent forms, and developing marketing strategies for upcoming launches, like our new body butter scents or holiday events.

Creation: This is the core of the business. I dedicate time to hands-on product creation—whether it’s formulating new body butters, preparing kits for our mobile workshops, or ensuring quality control across our existing line.

In essence, my day requires me to be a dedicated partner, an efficient time manager, a strategic planner, and a hands-on creator, ensuring that both my family and my business thrive.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! I’m Suvwe Ene, and I am the Founder and CEO of 29Thirty Inc.

My professional background was rooted in the demanding world of corporate project management, but my passion led me to create a business where creativity, self-care, and intentional connection could truly thrive. This move wasn’t just a career shift; it was about bringing a deeper sense of purpose to the products we use every day.

Our Brand: 29Thirty Inc.

At its heart, 29Thirty Inc. is a luxury experiential DIY studio that believes in the power of intentional creation and connection.

We offer a unique combination of high-quality, handcrafted retail products, like our popular Body Butters and custom scents, alongside deeply engaging DIY experiences:

The Experience: We host customized workshops, both at our storefront and through our mobile cart services, where guests create their own personalized products—like custom perfumes, body butters, body scrubs, and candles.

The Uniqueness: What makes us special is the focus on intentionality and flexibility. We don’t just sell an activity; we sell a shared memory. Whether you’re setting intentions for the year with a Manifestation Candle or crafting a custom scent to embody your best self, the creation process is designed to anchor those goals. For groups, not everyone has to take the same class—we allow flexibility so every guest gets a personalized experience.

What We Are Working On

Right now, we are incredibly excited about expanding our product lines and services:

Product Expansion: We recently launched an expansion of our Whipped Body Butter Collection, adding several new scents ranging from tropical and fruity to masculine and sweet.

Strategic Focus: My personal journey is about stepping further in front of the camera as the CEO, fostering a more direct connection with our community and sharing the authentic story behind our brand’s mission of connection, intention, and love.

We invite everyone to stop scrolling and start creating—whether it’s with a moment of self-care from our retail line or by booking a customized workshop for their next special event.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the expectations of the world took hold, I was someone driven by creation, curiosity, and the desire for genuine connection.

I grew up in a very strict Nigerian household, where the path to success was rigidly defined—you were expected to become a doctor, a lawyer, or an engineer. While I respect those paths, they simply were not mine. For a long time, I navigated the space between expectation and personal desire.

Ultimately, I chose business. I chose it not as a backup plan, but because it was the one path that truly fueled my passion. Creating 29Thirty Inc. allowed me to define my own professional success, blending my inherent drive for strategy (honed from my corporate background) with my deep love for hands-on creation, community, and intentional self-care.

Who was I before? I was an individual waiting for the chance to connect my passion with my purpose. Who am I now? I am the CEO who is finally building a life and a brand on my own authentic terms.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The greatest fear that held me back for a long time was the fear of failing. This wasn’t just about financial failure; it was tied deeply to the fear of not being accepted for who I truly am—someone who wanted to move beyond the traditional path—and ultimately, the fear of not being successful on my own terms.

This fear manifests most clearly now in the challenge of leaving the corporate space. As a Project Manager, that role represents comfort, stability, and structure. Leaning entirely into 29Thirty Inc. means embracing total uncertainty.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
If you were to ask my closest friends, I believe they would use three specific words: caring, loving, and honest—to a fault.

They would say that I approach my relationships and my work with a genuine sense of care and warmth. The ‘loving’ aspect translates directly into the community focus of 29Thirty Inc., where our goal is intentional connection and creating positive, shared experiences.

As for being ‘honest to a fault,’ that speaks to my commitment to transparency and integrity. While it might mean I’m direct, it ensures that when I’m strategizing for the business, managing projects, or interacting with customers, my decisions are always guided by clarity and ethical practices. These personal traits are the foundation of the genuine, authentic brand we are building.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
What I regret not doing sooner, without a doubt, is betting on myself.

For years, I deferred to external expectations—whether they came from a strict upbringing or the perceived safety of a corporate title. I spent energy meeting those molds instead of investing fully in my own vision and unique potential.

If I could speak to my younger self, I would tell her to embrace the uncertainty sooner and to validate her own creative ideas. Putting that full, entrepreneurial belief behind 29Thirty Inc. earlier would have meant accelerating our growth and reaching our community sooner.

I realize now that waiting until everything felt “safe” was just a form of self-doubt. Now that I’m fully committed, every day feels more fulfilling because I am finally operating from a place of genuine self-belief.
