Today we’d like to introduce you to Abria Green.
Abria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for event planning since I was 16 years old. It was my little sisters 6th birthday and she wanted a pretty princess party. After that, I was hooked! I loved how I could take someone’s wishes and turned them into reality. As I became an adult, I became fascinated with every area of the hospitality field. It is just something about being able to create the perfect atmosphere for others to relax and enjoy the ones they love. I was working on building my event planning business when I met a wine consultant who exposed me to the amazing world of private wine events. She’s actually a good friend and mentor to me now. She showed me that I can combine two of my favorite things wine and events which led me to start my business Rosé N Soirées! I can now offer your one-stop shop for wine tastings, private events and much more! We are your one-stop shop for wine tastings, private events and much more!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been easy, however, if I am honest my biggest obstacle was me! I would question myself at every turn. Do I have enough knowledge to start this business? Will I be well received in the industry? Will I connect with the right clientele? I had to find the strength within myself to believe in my abilities and in my dreams overall. My advice to other women is to find your support system. A lot of time as women we can be very loyal to our friends and loved ones and that’s great, but they might not be the ones that will help you get to your next level. It is okay to look outside of your comfort zone to find other like-minded people who can push you and guide you toward your goals.
Please tell us about Rosé N Soirées.
I am an event planning, mixologist and wine consultant. In other words, I create an inviting and fun atmosphere for you to learn all about wine and cocktails. I am most known for my knowledge of the history of various wines and liquors. I am most proud of how I have become known for being a one-stop shop which also is what set me apart from others. It doesn’t matter if you are planning a girls night or a fundraiser, I am able to make sure that your event will be one to remember.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
To be honest, there isn’t a specific motivational app, podcast, or blog that I listen to or read. I find encouragement through many motivational speakers that I follow on Instagram and Facebook. It always amazes me how I can stroll through my timeline and find what I need for that moment in time that’s needed. As for books, I always refer back to my educational books such as the Wine Bible and Wine Folly. I also am always looking for new learning opportunities. It is always something new and exciting to learn in this industry
