Life and Work with Anila Sajja

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anila Sajja.

Anila, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been into fashion since I was a little girl. I loved dressing up and putting together the best outfits. After college, I moved to NYC to work in the fashion/cosmetic industry. A few years later, I got married and moved back to Atlanta. Over the past 4 years, we expanded our family with two beautiful children, Aryana (3) and Avir (1). Since my daughter was born, I have been a stay at home mom. After some time, I needed to do something for myself, that is when I took a chance and started my blog on Instagram @peplumnbubblegum! I started off with an idea… fashion and family. Over the last few months, I have worked hard to add content to the blog. I have been trying to give my followers something new on a daily basis to keep things fresh. Over the last few months, I really enjoyed doing this and I want to make this hobby my job. It allows me the flexibility to grow this business on my terms and still take care of my two munchkins here in Atlanta.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been difficult to find my niche. I did not know how expansive or specific to be. I found that posting on my favorite styles and my daily wear made my blog more personal and genuine.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with PeplumNbubblegum – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a fashion blogger, I shop outfits that inspire me. I tend to go for more things on trend. I like to let all the moms out there know that even though we are moms and life can be super hard we can still have our style. It is a hard life being a mom, especially of two, but it does not mean you have to sacrifice style.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Although women face a unique set of challenges, both historic and present day, there is a unique opportunity to balance work and family. Women’s unprecedented penetration into the workplace and marketplace allows more access to fashion due to financial independence.
