Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla McBride.

Kayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began lashing in the year 2018 at that time, I was a sophomore in college, working part-time at a clothing store in the mall. I always knew that I wanted to launch my own business but I just didn’t know how or when. After spending weeks of doing research, I decided that I wanted to become a Lash Tech. I immediately got in contact with a local licensed cosmetologist and registered for a training course. The moment after my training I began strictly focusing on my business. I started out providing services to only friends and family until I built up enough confidence to take clients. Now it is two years later and I am so proud to see how far my business has grown!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, I believe that people fail to realize that there is no “smooth road” when it comes to entrepreneurship. Being an entrepreneur is mostly about taking a risk and having faith. Most of the time, that is hard and sometimes we take risk with no guarantee of that “risk” being beneficial for us. There has been plenty of times when I have wanted to give it all up and no longer be a business owner. However, I am constantly reminded each day that I have to keep going and that my journey will eventually pay off!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in being a Lash Tech and servicing others. I am mostly known for the services which I provide and my customer service skills. I am most proud of the amount of dedication that I have put into my business. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the help and encouragement of my family and friends.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
What has worked well for me would be my social media presence. It is important to constantly promote yourself daily using hashtags to help people easily locate your business page. Also, providing great customer service has helped my business tremendously. When you provide good customer service, you can almost guarantee you will gain more attraction towards your business.
