Hi Kayla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kayla Whitehead: I’m a business owner, a wife and a mother. I started my credit restoration business because it’s my passion to help others achieve financial freedom. I haven’t always been money savvy. It was a skill I had to learn – the hard way. My parents gave me the gift of perfect credit but I did not maintain it. Ultimately, I ran it into the ground and neglected it for years until I began dreaming of homeownership. Restoring my credit was mandatory so I focused on improving my scores and after five long years I bought my first house! Once I accomplished my goal, I started helping friends do the same on the side. I truly enjoyed guiding people towards financial freedom but knew there had to be a faster way.
Some years later my best friend, Takara Rogers, provided me with the opportunity to turn my passion into a business. I was apprehensive at first because I also have a traditional job working in healthcare – as a radiation therapist. Being a business owner seemed overwhelming with my already busy schedule and a little scary because there are no guaranteed paychecks. My daughter helped me take the leap of faith. She started crying one morning because she didn’t want me to go to work and honestly I didn’t want to leave either. I wanted to make more memories with her and have more control of how I spent my time. So an entrepreneur was born and now I own a business doing what I love!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is not easy but it is worth it! I am blessed to have great business partners as well as mentors. I have learned how to deal with a different level of rejection while staying motivated. Stepping out of my comfort zone has been painfully rewarding. I constantly remind myself that I was able to dream it so I can achieve it and that helps me push through when I hit a rough patch.

This business provides financial opportunities by implementing positive habits. The goal is to create and maintain a strong financial future. Our flagship service is credit restoration: we work with a team of experts and a proven system to eliminate any inaccurate, obsolete or erroneous information from credit profiles, improving current scenarios and future opportunities. I am also proud of the program we have to enhance financial knowledge among children. It is implemented in schools across America and online to teach kids at an early age the details of credit.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I am still learning is: how to stay focused on my goal. It is so easy to get tugged towards my 9-5 duties and pulled into my motherly responsibilities. I lean on my village heavily: my husband, my family and my friends are so supportive. Writing down what I want to accomplish and have an accountability partner gets me back on track when I get rerouted.
