Life and Work with Lovely Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lovely Anderson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
So, my story started when I was going through a divorce which was in 2015 and I really just wanted to do something to keep my mind occupied so I remember going to various store scene the home decor and I noticed how pretty the wreaths we’re, and so I said to myself maybe I could make one of those so I will. At the time, I was working at Resurgens Orthopedics and I remember I made one for the front office I was working at and I remember my boss asking me who made it and I said I did and he said: well, this is just beautiful and so the patient came in and they saw the wreaths and from then, I got orders and I was giving them away until one of my clients she was like you really should charge for this-this is not something you give away it’s a gift. And fast forward to now, I make wreaths for sports, weddings baby showers Educators home decor and all of the wreath that I make are custom-made to the clients liking. So, I make them from various materials from Burlap to deco mesh to ornaments and all are Handmade by myself. I genuinely love making them they bring a joy to my heart and the other part about me making the wreath is that when I give them to the client the reaction on their face is what I enjoy the most.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been as smooth as some people may think. I have dealt with always second-guessing my work or the pricing because of other women out there who do make the product that I make and they make their own better or they may use a technique that I may say, hey, I could use that technique, the struggles that I have seen are to know your audience in your market. So, if I sign up for a festival, I look at the surroundings, the type of people that will be coming to the event, so I will know what type of wreaths to make for that event. My advice is to never second-guess your work never allow someone to tell you what your work is worth when you know the time and labor and the hard work that has gone into it. And to not give up, had I not listen to my advisors and people who have been in business way longer than I have or people who work in this field of Home Decor who helped me with certain ideas or pricing or location, it’s all about being receptive and open to criticism that can help your business down the long run.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lovely Wreaths – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I make custom-made wreaths. I specialize in the area of wreaths making for all occasions, themes, backgrounds, etc. I am most proud of the work that I do when I stand back and I look at what I have made I lost my job in April and I used what I had on hand and I made over 40 wreaths and I said I wanted to be the person that people go to for their home decor. I am affordable, I am personable and I’m very relatable, and so with that, I’m known for delivering a product that lasts for years and I just really love what I do. What sets me apart from others I feel is that I actually take the time to listen to what my clients want and their custom order from the colors to the accent ribbon to the monogram to the theme, etc. and a lot of people will just take your money versus me. I rather build a rapport and have a client that keeps coming back because of my other customer service experience because customer service is very big and it’s very important people will always remember how you made them feel.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I’ve always loved to decorate, I’ve always loved to be festive or have something that makes my house or my or my room stand out. I know I would watch how people would treat my grandmother or just anyone that I love and is very close to me and how they would treat them as a number and not a person but just a prophet and I know that customer service is really big with me and you treat people like you would want to be treated as if you were on the other side of the counter. My grandmother always taught me that you treat people as if you are entertaining an angel, and so I always live by that to this day.
