My fascination with fashion and style began at a young age and continued into my adult years. Yet, I never envisioned being a jewelry designer with a rapidly burgeoning brand: StyleBLISS Jewels. At a time when I yearned for a creative outlet, designing jewelry surprisingly entered my life, and I fully embraced it with open arms.
Prior to launching StyleBLISS Jewels, I saw the potential of a jewelry brand after receiving overwhelmingly positive responses to the jewelry pieces I handcrafted and personally wore. What began as a few uninterrupted hours of leisurely and unexpectedly sitting in a corner of my home resurrecting, dismantling, and refashioning components from jewelry I collected over many years manifested into a newfound passion for meticulously creating original jewelry designs derived from inspiration that positively impacts my life in some way, shape, or form on a daily basis.
I wholeheartedly recognize and respect jewelry design as my purpose that extends beyond the pure joy and fulfillment I experience in this creative capacity. Additionally, it serves as a platform for me to inspire and encourage others to also take a leap of faith and fearlessly follow their bliss.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Generally speaking, I believe one of the greatest challenges associated with entrepreneurship is the desire to have immediate success while also trying to navigate through various phases and stages of development and refinement. As a self-taught jewelry designer who single-handedly structured every aspect of my jewelry business as a novice in this industry, my experience has definitely been overwhelming and challenging at times — especially when simultaneously learning and handling new business processes while also preparing for opportunities to further propel my jewelry line.
I continue to learn a lot through methods of trial and error, but I persevere with the desire to evolve and excel as a jewelry designer. By nature, I am entrepreneurial-minded, creative, and resourceful with a strong work ethic, so these innate qualities served me well, and continue to do so, as I progress with StyleBLISS Jewels. Through it all, I accept and appreciate the importance of staying true to myself, my artistry, and my process knowing that what is meant to be will be.
My advice for women who are just starting their journey in pursuit or progression of their entrepreneurial passion is to positively stay the course and remain steadfast in the midst of any doubt that may exist in your mind about pursuing your dreams. I believe that during the most trying times are when you’re truly tested, but it’s during these times that make you stronger in the long run. Let your tests become your testimony, trust the process, and forge ahead with fortitude and fervor to not only follow your dreams but manifest them to the best of your ability.

Along with a strong online presence and being sold at various specialty boutiques and five-star hotels, StyleBLISS Jewels has also been featured and showcased at Bloomingdale’s and West Elm.
I experience great joy and pride in personally designing every piece of jewelry from concept to creation, and I’m so appreciative of the great response my designs continue to receive as innovative creations. I put my heart and soul into my work, and I never take for granted this talent I’ve been blessed with in my life. Often times as I’m crafting a single piece of jewelry or an entire collection of many, I’m truly amazed at how my mind naturally works when I’m visualizing, conceptualizing, and creating my jewelry designs. It’s as if the ability to do so has always been in my spirit before I knew it physically existed within me. Undoubtedly, I’m so proud to be working in a creative capacity I absolutely love. I believe the transitional and transformative moments in my life have led me to the divine path I’m on now as a bona fide jewelry designer with a flourishing business.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I believe women are well positioned for any opportunities they wholeheartedly desire. I have great appreciation and admiration for women who fearlessly, passionately, and authentically pursue their professional endeavors with dedication, drive, and determination. In life, it is certainly not uncommon for obstacles and challenges as well as fear and uncertainty to surface and resurface during the most inopportune times. Notwithstanding, women have shattered glass ceilings, broken barriers, and succeeded in so many phenomenal ways, and we continue to unapologetically and amazingly do so.
