Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Hughley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Noelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a free-spirit, with a genuine presence. As early as 2014, I captured the hearts of many, when I was crowned Miss Georgia Teen USA 2014. I used her platform to speak at schools throughout Georgia, sharing my message, “Noelle’s Story.” I encouraged students to take “Noelle’s Pledge”, believing this message will educate others against the perils of bullying. The Miss Ga Teen USA title also earned me a full ride scholarship to Lindenwood University. I’ve since earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from Lindenwood University. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., National Association of Black Journalists, Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, and a mentor for B’Fly Girls Inc.; I am on a mission to be of service to all mankind.
Ever since I first watched the Oprah Winfrey Show, I fell in love with storytelling. My career goals evolved into a passion for entertainment, composing great content, and connecting with the world. As a Radio Host for Streetz 105.1, the fastest and largest growing digital urban radio station, I use my energy to create bonds with listeners through my content and production skills. The help of my team’s skills led to the accomplishment of reaching over a million streams worldwide.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This road has not been easy, and as a result, I faced a lot of adversity along the way. From maturing as an individual, facing personal obstacles, outgrowing relationships/friendships, to discovering my purpose, and making sense out of life can feel challenging at times.
My advice to anyone starting their journey is LOVE yourself AT ALL TIMES and to trust God’s steps. Do not be afraid to have a relationship with God, because he is the ONE who can ALWAYS make a way. God’s guidance, along with building self-confidence, reshaped how I VIEWED MYSELF. If you want to be great, you first have to change the way you view yourself, break old habits, set new goals, and actively work on being better than how you were yesterday.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Radio Personality, Multimedia Journalist, Public Speaker, Mentor, Social Influencer and Model who lights up any room she walks into. I am the only female Radio Host for the fastest and largest growing digital urban radio station, Streetz 105.1. I also serve as a media correspondent and editor for Hot 107.9 Durtty Daily Beauty.
I am most proud of how resilient I am, and my ability to make the most out of every situation. As a black woman, I would hear the word “No”, and I refuse to be silenced by that word. Instead of feeling defeated, I use that to fuel my drive to become bigger and better than how I was before. Always looking at the positives in every situation, that are not what I anticipate is what sets me apart from others. Not to mention, I have an energetic personality that adds to me being one of a kind.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
My top books at the moment are “Milk & Honey”, “Hello BOLD”, and “Believe Bigger.” The first fifteen minutes of my morning, I listen to motivational speakers on YouTube. These books and podcast serve as a knowledgeable source to start my day off right.
