Today we’d like to introduce you to Talesha Austin.
Talesha, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my online Vintage store, Divaxpress Vintage seven years ago. I stepped out on faith and decided to pursue my passion with thrifting and finding fabulous pieces to sell online. It has done exceptionally well over the last seven years, and I am very thankful I stopped out on faith to pursue my dream. In February of 2019, I had my son a birthday party in my home and decided to decorate his party myself. I’m the process, I created a balloon garland that went with his theme. I then a few months later in May, I created a custom garland for my own birthday and did all the decor myself. I posted it online and got a lot of feedback. I had someone reach out to me and ask would I create their custom garland, and that was how Divaxpress Events was born. Since then, I have done many balloon garlands and decided to add it on to my brand. It is also something I am very passionate about and feel I can add on to my brand in the months to come.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was not been a smooth road when I started my clothing part of the business, it was very slow, but I didn’t give up. I never looked at how many other people were selling vintage clothing online or comparing myself to what they were doing.. I am my own competition, and I strive to do better than I did the previous, month, etc. When I started Divaxrpess vintage, I had to be patient and consistent, and that is when the results came. Divaxpress Events has been a very smooth ride, thankfully. As soon as I started creating custom garlands for clients, I have been receiving inquiries every week. I always make sure I pray about anything before I start. God is always first with my brand.

I create custom organic balloon garlands for clients. I am most proud that I have been consistently booking clients since I’ve started Divaxpress Events almost a year ago in May. I always make sure I treat my clients like royalty. I show up on early, I accommodate their schedules, and always go above and beyond their expectations. Customer service is so important to me and has always been with my brand, so making sure my clients are pleased is mandatory. I communicate thoroughly throughout the process when creating their custom garland to make sure it’s exactly the vision they pictured for their special day.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
My favorite apps right now are pintrest. I love Pinterest as it helps me get ideas on how to create my garlands, and ways I can be creative with my craft.
