Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Gallardo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Veronica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started off making small comics, traditionally. I have also been painting a handful of portraits, for those who had commissioned me. I didn’t start doing digital art until roughly 2 years ago, to which, I’ve progressed and sort of made a name for myself. Now, I do freelance artwork for people.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely been a very trying journey. I still find myself discouraged with my line of work. I guess it’s one of those, “you are you’re worst critique” kind of scenarios. It takes a lot of mental/emotional energy to believe in your own work. At least, for me, it does.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with veronicaandjelly – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m most known for my characters and comics online. I tend to have a very cutesie spin on things. I more so redesign other’s characters and make short animations.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Yes, there have been a lot of trials and errors that I’ve gone through, to understand the line of work I want to do. I wasn’t fully aware of how to go about getting into animation or pursuing a career as an artist.
