Life & Work with Victoria Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Smith.

Hi Victoria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My brand started at home in my apartment amidst the pandemic. I, among many others had been laid off from work. The result of this extended me a lot of free time. I developed into many different crafts. The first craft was hand-painting custom art designs on slides and shoes. Then I began High-Fashion hand-stitched custom embroidery. As of lately, I have been spending my time on freelance artistry for a solo show I intend to host quarantine-style in the coming weeks. This show will feature a collection of my latest paintings using acrylic and oils for my mediums. It will featured on my website and Instagram.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road for me but alas, I am here. I have experienced and reveled in a great deal of success and in the least amount of failure. I have been kept by GOD and I have my health. I am grateful to say the least! The work that I have produced lately is very near to me finding inspirations for my work and really allowing myself to be transparent in my work has been somewhat of a struggle for me. Sharing my work with the world could sometimes be a struggle for me. I say this because just because you create something that you love and means something to you is a guarantee for the world or your audience to appreciate it in that same light. There’s a saying that “There’s and audience for you” Finding my audience is a “struggle” for me because of how versatile my work is and can be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in expressionism art. I am known for how I execute custom artwork and how I express through my artwork where it be painting or hand-made crafts or even photography. What sets me apart from others is how I execute my work.
