Life and Work with Viviana Espinoza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Viviana Espinoza.

Viviana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Working for myself was always the ultimate goal. Figuring out where to start was my biggest challenge. I moved to Atlanta five years ago and landed a Marketing Coordinator position with a hospitality group in downtown Atlanta. There, I took on a role that consisted of me wearing many different hats. The experience and growth I gained helped build my confidence and helped me take the next steps into launching Busy Vee. Still a little hesitant, I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend of mine who had just launched her own digital marketing company in California support me. With her help, I was picking up clients. Soon, requests for digital marketing services in Atlanta began to come in and word about Busy Vee began to spread. I had begun my journey as an entrepreneur. Busy Vee is still very much a start up, but I am excited for what this year has planned.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is a misconception that the road to success is a steady one, it is not. There are many bumps on that road, some may be easy to overcome, others may push you to quit. Don’t. There have been days where I have questioned my capability to keep up and fight through all the obstacles but I have learned that anything I put my mind to I deliver. I’ve learned that turning my I wishes into I wills has helped overcome that sense of doubt Failing stopped being embarrassing and became lessons I was happy to share with the world. The best advice I can give is to do it without fear or doubt, and if one way didn’t work, find a different way.

Please tell us about Busy Vee.
Busy Vee provides digital marketing services for small businesses who are looking to build their brand. Whether you are looking for branding or digital strategy, we will take your business model and help produce the highest return on investment.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Events are your best friend. I love being social and meeting new people so networking events have always been my go to. I’ve found many mixers around the city and they always have a good mix of people, from successful entrepreneurs to those who are just starting. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, you are not alone.
