Today we’d like to introduce you to Aasiya J.

Hi Aasiya, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born & raised in Decatur Georgia, Makeup and Modeling have always been my passion. I started modeling professionally at 14 at barbizon where I also completely fell in love with makeup. By 18 years old, a few modeling gigs under my belt and makeup expertise I was ready to take over the beauty industry! I went to cosmetology school, graduated and jumped right into being an Makeup artist! Within my first year of doing makeup, I quickly found this was my calling. I had the amazing opportunity to do makeup for proms, brides and bridal parties – which doesn’t happen so early in the first couple of years! Being on demand really helped me adapt to the lifestyle of a MUA, as well as shape the clientele that I want for myself. My plan is to continue to dominate the Atlanta beauty industry-Working with models, actors, celebrities, and social media influencers! Once I stamp my name in my hometown I’m headed to the next big city!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was not always easy, but being the person that I am I will always prevail! Staying true to myself and believing in myself keeps me going. After losing my grandmother Janet was one of the lowest moments in my life. My grandmother not only inspired me to be the best that I can be but she was always there every step of the way reminding me of my greatness! Losing her gave me nothing but strength to continue to move through life with grace and determination.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a makeup artist specializing in soft glam, full glam, runway and editorial. I’m most known for my full glam looks because it consists of the rhinestones, glitter and dramatic glam.. even though it’s time consuming- it’s what sets me apart from the other mua’s and you can never go wrong with a full glam beat! I’m most proud of my ability to learn and share new techniques and tips especially from other muas can save me time and give better results! S/o to Olivia song for being a GREAT mentor and friend to me.

Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to working with all celebrities and influencers on Social media, working on set and designing my makeup brand; AASIYAJ PRO MUA & COS. Which will be dropping soon
