Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian (Alex) Alexander.
Hi Adrian (Alex), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got started in the entertainment industry back in 1994 at Tri Cities High School in East Point GA, that’s where my love for music and arts developed. My love for music kept me out of trouble and was a source or relaxation during some very tough moments in my life. I think that’s why I started Out Your League Entertainment, I wanted to build a place where artist can be creative and share their craft with the world. You never know who life you may change through the power of music and arts.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been very challenging to own and operate an entrainment in company in the city of Atlanta. Here in Atlanta, there’s damn near a studio on every corner and everyone is either a rapper, manager, or label. It’s a daily struggle to compete with the big name studios and entertainment companies here in the Atlanta area. It’s hard having integrity and honor when this city is filled with scammers and people that makes profit from selling lies and dreams. I would say that’s the biggest struggle in the industry I’ve had along the way. You can’t be nice or have a big heart nowadays, people will find a way to exploit your kindness.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently serving as an Active Duty Army Warrant Officer. I’ve been in the military for 25 years now and I absolutely love what I do. I specialize in an area called Tactical Data Links and of challenges me to be innovative with how I develop solutions for very complex situations. I’m well known for being a stand up guy, someone that will give it to you straight and would give you the shirt off my back if I could. I’m extremely proud of the lives I’ve touched and changed over the years. My ability to help people is one thing I think I’ll always be remembered for. What sets me apart from others is my drive for success. I have managed to serve my country honorably, raise my children, operate a small business and remained humbled throughout the entire process. I’m not where I want to be but rest assured, I have carved a path for my team and I to achieve our goals.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to make people prove themselves to you before you give them Loyalty. Being loyal to the wrong person can cause some serious heartache and doubt if you let it.
