Today we’d like to introduce you to Alltime Arcade.
Alltime, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally was introduced to the subgenre called NerdCore when I was closer to 10 years old. Then I was reintroduced to it when I was about 14 years old, and could understand it more. I grew to love it, music about video games, and anime, and comic book characters I loved. Around 15 and on, I got the idea to try making NerdCore music as well! I self taught myself a majority of my skills, and learned more from friends in the community. From mixing, to mastering, to learning how to flow, to vocal delivery, to promotion, etc. I learned all of this in the ambition to make this dream a reality; becoming a NerdCore artist.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles I dealt with was other people. Artists in the community who weren’t nice to people starting out. Family members who didn’t show much care for it. Even close friends who criticized the idea of NerdCore itself being too cringey or childish in nature. And as a result, I’ve learned to cut ties to those negative views, and truly appreciate those who supported me, even to this day. My own mother listens to almost all of my releases. My friends I found in the community who are like brothers to me, even if we barely see each other in person. I’ve learned to stand firm in my beliefs when tested, and to enjoy moments with those I cherish. They are what helps to make my dreams possible.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a NerdCore artist, meaning I make music over nerdy things. A great example would be making a song over Pokemon, or any anime title, or even a video game. I make tracks that are like tributes for series’ and characters. This is meant for people of almost any age, to relate with the character/series through the track. Those fans of a series can listen to a song and feel taken back to the times they enjoyed these series.
I am known for taking the traditional approach to NerdCore music. Meaning I embody the character/series I make a song over. I also still make it feel like a great song to listen to. My main goal is make lyrics that embody the character, while still being able to be taken a different way, should the listener not know the character or series. It’s a beautiful hybrid, allowing almost anyone to enjoy the music I make.
I am also known for pulling off fast rap, for those who enjoy the sound of it! I am proud to say I am a known presence in regards to that, and I have made massive strides in improving it still!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is almost impossible to pinpoint. However, if I truly had to narrow it down, I would say my favorite childhood memory would probably be the times I went to Disney World with my family. I am a massive Star Wars fan, and a fan of the memories Disney gave me as a kid. Seeing that in person was a feeling I won’t forget. Being able to live those in the moment makes it all the more meaningful and awesome.
