Hi Alvin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started as a Dj in a local bar. I quickly expanded to weddings, corporate events and promoting artist showcases. From there I began managing recording artist and later performing artist. In 2017 I began distributing and publishing music. It was difficult in the beginning, not because projects were not completed on schedule. Most artist are not affiliated with a Performance Rights Organization (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC in America). I was determined to finish what I started and so I did
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No road is ever smooth! The biggest hurdle is cooperation and the perceived value of skill set and knowledge. Corporate brands that maintain millions in ad revenue campaigns and AI intelligence assistance paint a false narrative on the true process of the music industry.. You do not see the corporate hierarchy that colludes behind closed doors negotiating deals that block the small indie out of main stream platforms where some indies could flourish.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In recent months a serious of collaborations and mergers have lead to a new brand, ORYON PRIME MEDIA. OPM is a one stop shop for media content. We produce, publish, license and distribute all forms of media via our own internal networks, affiliated partnerships or third party networks. Our services offered have expanded 2 folded demographically.
•The collaboration with Stone Paxton – Brand Artist Coalition reenforces not only levels up our distribution but also A&D and full production.
• Our reunion with Oringi World strengthens our market share in World music and relationships with artist abroad. Oringi World also doubles our catalog opening some doors slammed shut.
•AMC RECORDS bolsters our A&R department scouring the globe to bring in new artist and indie labels. AMC preps the artist for A&D ensuring a smooth transition in Artist and Label services.
•Our merger with Ramsey Media Group to create ORYON PRIME MEDIA has created a synergy within the inner circle. Ramsey Media Group brings decades of experience in Artist Management and publication publishing and distribution.
•Star Quality Entertainment is the powerhouse of the group. They continue to grow their audience on YouTube and Instagram. Their unique team can produce not only music and videos but assist with production of all marketing content, in one day.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I appreciate the vast opportunities available to promote our artist. Most promoters are willing to work with artist and their budgets. The diversity in some parts of the city i feel are key to the spirit and growth of the city.
But, with the good there is always the bad intentioned seeking opportunities as well. To many scams to take advantage of those working hard to build and create something for the city to eventually enjoy
