Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda “Amethyst” Nicole Tarver Turner.
Hi Amanda “Amethyst” Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born this way. However, I didn’t always see it as a gift. My maternal grandmother was like me and nurtured it. She learned the base of my practice from her. After she passed however things were rough. I didn’t understand new things that were happening and I had no idea how to control any of it. It all hit the proverbial fan so to say in the 11th grade when I had a complete breakdown in history class. But I was lucky because my teacher pulled me aside and asked what was wrong and I trusted him enough to tell him the truth. He believed me because he had a friend just like me. So instead of sending me to the nurse or counselor, he sent me to his friend a retired teacher, the renowned psychic Jane Hudson. She was my mentor from 1997 until Jane’s passing in 2014. I remember showing up at her office in Buckhead on a Saturday morning she looked at me and said your just a kid then gave me the biggest hug and said okay what’s going on. It was the first time I felt fully understood since losing my grandmother. With Jane’s help, I developed my skills as a medium, spiritual advisor, and minister. In 2013, I expanded my healing gifts to include Reiki Energy Healing studying under Jessica Miller. In 2018, I achieved a mastery level and was granted permission to open my own school of Reiki.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no lol. This life isn’t for the weak. Being different as a kid gives you character though and like I said I got lucky. The universe looked out for me by putting the right adults in my path to help me find my way on this spiritual journey.
However, it’s just that, a journey and if you are growing in your practice then the journey never ends and the road is never smooth.
I question my path at times, I get tired, I meet people who want to get close to me hoping to have a pocket psychic and the spiritual world is very interesting. Every day is and adventure but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am Reiki/Chakra Healer, Reader, Spiritual Advisor, Life Coach, Minister, End-of-Life Doula, and Rootworker. I have two internet radio shows What Up Witches!!! and Amethyst Afterhours on BFAM 109.6 I believe what sets me apart from others is that it isn’t a job it’s my life. This is who I am not just what I do no matter what job I’m doing.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has played a great deal in my life. Without the right adults in my life when I was younger I would have most likely been labeled as mentally ill as a lot of spiritually gifted people are and given up on. I believe the universe has always put me exactly where I needed to be. The rest was good old-fashioned hard work and determination. Be while luck puts you where you need to be hard work keeps you there.
