Life & Work with Amanda Gentile of Metro Atlanta Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Gentile.

Hi Amanda , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Art has always been a part of who I am. From as early as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to creating—to finding beauty in the smallest details and telling stories through color, movement, and emotion. Photography eventually became the outlet where all of that came together. It allows me to capture the real love stories that unfold every day—the laughter, the quiet moments, the in-between glances that say more than words ever could.

My journey with Amanda Marie Photography began with one simple, life-changing gift: a camera from someone who believed in me long before I believed in myself. That gesture is something I’ll never forget—it sparked everything. I started photographing with borrowed, rented, and donated gear, just chasing the joy of creating and learning as I went. Slowly but surely, I built my confidence, my skills, and my business from the ground up—piece by piece, dream by dream.

What started as a creative passion has grown into a full-time career that fills my heart every single day. I still feel that same spark every time I pick up my camera. Every couple, every wedding, every story is so special to me. I see it as such an honor to be invited into these moments—to capture something real and meaningful that my couples will cherish for a lifetime.

I’m endlessly grateful that this journey has also allowed me to travel to some of the most beautiful places, documenting love against breathtaking backdrops. Traveling to capture weddings in stunning locations truly feeds my soul—it reminds me of how vast and beautiful the world is, and how love connects us all no matter where we are.

Today, I’m so proud to say that Amanda Marie Photography is a full-time business built entirely on heart, hard work, and a dream that started with a single camera. It’s more than photography—it’s storytelling, it’s art, and it’s the most fulfilling journey I could ever imagine.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most meaningful journeys, mine hasn’t been a smooth road—but it’s been one I’m endlessly grateful for. Building Amanda Marie Photography has been one of the greatest joys of my life, but it’s also taken a lot of faith, patience, and resilience.

In the early days, I started with the bare minimum—borrowed, rented, and donated gear—and poured every ounce of myself into learning, growing, and creating. There were moments of doubt, long nights editing, and seasons when I wondered if I was dreaming too big. But every challenge reminded me why I started—to create something that brings people joy and preserves their most precious memories.

One of the hardest parts of my journey has been navigating through my own health complications while running a full-time business. There were times when my body slowed me down, when I had to learn to rest, to heal, and to give myself grace. Balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with the unpredictability of health struggles taught me a lot about perseverance and purpose. It made me even more grateful for the days I get to do what I love—because I know how precious that ability truly is.

Running a creative business also comes with its own unique challenges—the pressure to stand out, the endless to-do lists, the emotional weight of being fully present for every couple’s once-in-a-lifetime moments. But those experiences have shaped me into the artist and person I am today. They’ve taught me to slow down, to find beauty in imperfection, and to keep showing up even when things get hard.

Every obstacle, every setback, and every lesson along the way has only deepened my appreciation for where I am now. I’m proud of the road it took to get here—and so thankful that I get to spend my days doing something that fills my heart and soul: capturing real, timeless love stories for people who trust me to tell them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in wedding, elopement and couples photography, capturing timeless, emotive imagery that reflects the real, raw connection between two people. My approach is romantic yet intentional—focused on documenting love stories as they truly unfold, in all their laughter, movement, and quiet beauty.

Over the years, my work has grown to include not only photography, but also content creation and wedding films. I absolutely love blending motion and emotion—using video to bring those fleeting, powerful moments to life. Whether it’s a highlight film or behind-the-scenes content for social media, my goal is always the same: to help my couples relive their story with the same joy and butterflies they felt in that exact moment.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the photographs or films themselves, but the experience I create for my couples. From the very first conversation to the final delivery, I’m fully invested in their story. I want them to feel seen, celebrated, and completely at ease in front of my camera. So much of what I do is about being present—capturing those in-between moments that often go unnoticed but mean everything.

I think what sets me apart is the heart behind my work. My background in art deeply influences my style—I see each image and film as a piece of art that tells a story through light, movement, and emotion. My clients often tell me their photos and videos feel like them, and that’s the greatest compliment I could ever receive.

Travel is also a huge part of what fuels my creativity. Photographing and filming love stories in breathtaking destinations—whether it’s a mountaintop elopement, a coastal ceremony, or a quiet moment in a hidden garden—it feeds my soul and keeps me inspired. Those experiences remind me that love is beautifully universal, and it’s such an honor to capture it wherever it leads me.

I’m endlessly proud of how far this dream has come. Amanda Marie Photography was built from faith, hard work, and a deep love for people—and every time I deliver a gallery or film that brings my couples to tears (in the best way!), it reminds me why I started. My heart is to create art that feels alive, tells a story, and becomes a piece of someone’s legacy.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is people — their stories, their emotions, and the connections that make life so beautiful. Every time I pick up my camera, I’m reminded that what I do is about so much more than just taking photos or creating films. It’s about preserving memories that become part of someone’s legacy — moments that will be cherished for generations.

I care deeply about creating work that feels genuine and meaningful. When my couples look back at their photos or watch their film, I want them to feel it — the laughter, the nerves, the quiet love in the in-between. Those emotions are what make life so rich, and being able to capture them is one of the greatest honors of my life.

At the heart of everything I do is gratitude. I know what it’s like to dream something into existence from the ground up — to pour your heart into your art and hope it touches others. That’s why every couple, every wedding, and every session means the world to me. They’re not just clients — they’re people who have trusted me with their memories, and that trust is something I never take lightly.

I also believe in using my art to celebrate love in all its forms — to tell stories that are real, diverse, and deeply human. Love looks different for everyone, and that’s what makes it so incredibly beautiful.

What matters most to me is connection — the kind that moves you, the kind that reminds you of how fleeting and magical life is. That’s what inspires every photo I take, every frame I film, and every story I tell.
