Life & Work with Amy Spanier of Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Spanier

Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Briefly🫣😆!

I’ve been an interior designer for 47 years in Atlanta and New York. I’m the owner of S. N. O. B. DESIGN
(Slightly North of Buckhead)

My love of art and artists has always been an overwhelming passion for me. I grew up in Atlanta watching and buying art from local artists. When I went into interior design,
I realized very fast that a design job was never finished without the art! To many empty walls were haunting. Many times, Ive been lucky enough to design a space around art that clients already owned or that we curated before the design job begins!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is never smooth for an entrepreneur!
To follow my passion no matter the risk is what feeds my soul!
The struggles have been great but not greater than the success!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Interior Designer, gallery owner, design consultant, paint selection consultant. I specialize in small to large construction renovations and interior design using a clients existing furnishings or a great mix of existing furnishings with new pieces!
Im the owner of I. D. E. A. GALLERY
(Innovate Design Exhibit Art) and have been an art curator forever! (art is a vast term) that includes anything special that moves someone.
Something that effects their brain chemistry in some way.

I’m most proud of my perseverance.

We can ask my clients what sets me apart from others but, I do know that for lack of a better term…I seriously think outside the box!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned a few things about what fear can do to people and how important it was to volunteer during that time. Most importantly, I realized that fear is paralyzing and you’ve got to fight through it as soon as possible. Covid changed people forever.
