Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Browne. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Singer-Songwriter
Andy Browne is a singer-songwriter who has had a very interesting journey in the music industry. Originally from Birmingham, England, he sailed to America as a young pup and eventually settled in Atlanta. He grew up listening to influential artists like The Clash, Curtis Mayfoield, Barry White The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and The Jam.
At the age of 15, Browne had his first professional gig as the frontman of The Nightporters, opening for The Restraints at 688.
A highlight was opening for The Clash at The Fox. He also had the opportunity to tour with The Replacements and open for REM. In the 1990s, he moved to Los Angeles and worked in video production, touring with Van Halen and working on events such as the Japan Olympics and Atlanta Olympics.
In 2001, Browne Miami moved to Philadelphia and formed an audiovisual production company, working on major events for companies like Johnson & Johnson, Olympus Camera, and Aramark. Eventually, he made his way back to Atlanta (forming The Andy Browne Troupe) in 2016, where he felt more at home due to the warmer weather and friendlier people.
During the pandemic, Browne and his partner Lucy Theodora formed the band Lynx Deluxe, their first professional gig was opening for Drivin N Cryin at The Roxy in 2021. Their debut album “Jungleland” was released the same year on Drivin N Cryin Records, and they are currently mixing their newest album, which was recorded at Capricorn Studios in Macon, Georgia.
In the meantime, their first single “Butterflies” will be released in December. The song touches on various issues but primarily serves as a heartfelt ode to childhood and the joy that life can bring.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Finding Faith!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Singer-Songwriter The song “My Little Tin Soldier (She’s My) by the Andy Browne Troupe is a particular favorite; I’m quite fond of “Butterflies” our newest single is quite a melodic earful.
Meeting Joe Strummer ( The Clash) has to be my proudest moment so far, getting a thumbs-up approval from your hero, well it’s kinda like a blessing from Jesus.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Not sure on this, it’s kinda a Wild West out there in the music industry, anything could happen, Miracles do occur, and I’m a witness to that.
