Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Collins.
Hi Angela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a love for fashion. I knew that eventually, I’d land somewhere in the world of fashion. Dressing up to head into the office or out for an evening with friends was my favorite pastime before the pandemic. When the pandemic struck, I found myself at home in pajamas day after day without a way to express myself through fashion the way I would in my normal day-to-day life. After months in the house on quarantine, I found myself shopping for more fashionable and comfortable pajamas and loungewear — unfortunately, most of the selections were boring and unimaginative. I wanted something artistic and colorful that would make for a great work from home outfit or eventually be something that I could see wearing out. Trying to solve for this need led me to develop Endearments for others that desired more exciting and luxurious options for loungewear/pajamas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business during the pandemic was a challenge. I dealt with so many things that could have stopped me in my tracks. At one point, there was total shutdown of my manufacturer for several weeks delaying production. Not to mention in some cases, it was hard to establish or maintain communication with prospective vendors due to everything that people were facing — so it was hard to keep the ball moving as quickly as I would have liked. Prayer and patience were my best friends as I pushed forward knowing that things would come together the way that they were intended.

Founder and creative director Angela Collins wanted to wake up a sleepy industry by infusing bright colors and the soft comfortable free feeling of luxurious silk fabrics for Endearments. Our customers know that they are getting a quality sustainable product that will be part of their wardrobe for years to come. In a short time, Endearments has developed a cult-like following of loyal pajama wear collectors. Our typical buyer is one that takes just as much joy in curating her nightwear looks as she does for those that she wears throughout the day.
What matters most to you?
We founded Endearments during a global pandemic. People were stuck in the house looking for a way to just feel normal again. We hope that when our customers wear Endearments that we are giving them a vehicle to escape into a world of luxurious comfort. We are big believers that what you wear can have the power to change your mood and transport you into new realities.
