Life & Work with Beuté Airess

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beuté Airess.

Hi Beuté, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started creating at the age of six, faces, clothing designs, shoes, bubble letters. I used my imagination to create the life I saw in magazines and like “17 magazine” and TV shows. I’d design dresses that had a painting like effect to them. I drew faces to express emotions I couldn’t verbalize. I lived in a world of my own. Thus creating that as I grew older. Living in Brooklyn, NY for 25 years, I was surrounded by art and creativity. But I found myself needing to get away from the buildings and the fast life to find peace and quiet. I found that in Atlanta, GA. Near more trees, sky views, birds and flowers. Nature has always inspired my art due to its calmness and color palette. I share my talents with kids as an outlet for their imagination. I always tell my students” There is one rule in art, there are no rules”. I teach them to be their unique selves IN COLOR. Without shame or fear of making a mistakes. Life is a series or light and dark shadows, which can always be shaped and erased to your liking, it’s your world. My Art stems from the idea of peace in solitude to listen, think and grow from within.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This road of self discover and creativity has not been the easiest. I have had to release the name I was given to regain my own personal power. I have gone through a number of rebirths only to find that I am wiser after shedding so many skins. Financial hardship comes with following your own path. There is no handbook to creating the life that lives only in your vision. I’ve learned to balance my health with dance, I’ve learned to listen to those that offer their time to me. I’ve learned to let people places and things go to grow. I’ve learned that making mistakes only makes me wiser and to express love and gratitude to those I find to be value in while they are around. Love is contagious.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I paint fluid, expressive pieces, paintings of paradise scenes and life like portraits. Nature has always inspired my art due to its calmness and colors palette. I share my talents with kids as an outlet for their imagination. Teaching them the relationship between light and shadows and how the two make up our reality. Everything has contours; we are all made up of light and dark which makes us real to see. My Art stems from the idea of bringing visions to life. I paint to express emotions of love, hurt and confusion. Transmuting that energy to work in stillness with focus and at peace.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite book would have to be ” Think and grow rich”, “The Art of Seduction” “Failure is not an option” and “The Alchemist”. These books helped me look with in for answers and to take accountability of my life and perspective.
