Life & Work with Brittany Bah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Bah.

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My photography journey started in high school when my best friend decided she wanted to become a model. I believed in her so much, I deemed myself her personal photographer and creative director. Little did I know, I would actually grow a passion for it. Well, life happened. I got married, started a corporate career and photography took the back seat. The year 2019 came and after a long hard journey of pursuing motherhood with disappointment, I decided, I needed something to get me back to self. I was born a creative person and photography gave me a chance to see the world through a different lens. But you guessed it, 2020 came and the world was turned upside down. Creatives were going through hardship, the economy shut down and so did my dreams of being a photographer.

Well, shortly after the world went awry, my husband and I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl and she gave me such inspiration to get back in the swing of things. Through the hearts of some pretty amazing and trusting individuals, I was given my first photography business gig and things really took off!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, I’m still learning to balance being a mom, wife, working a full-time job and running a business. But someone recently told me, “there is NO balance! It’s all about prioritizing”. Whatever is your focus at that time, give it 100% dedication. Some things take the back seat at different stages, but I always try to keep what’s most important the highest priority and that’s my family.

I go into each photo session with a positive mindset ready to serve and that has brought me some pretty amazing clients thus far. As entrepreneurs, we often want quick fast success, but I believe this is a marathon and that perspective has kept this journey pretty smooth.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Hi I’m Brittany Bah! I’m a branding, lifestyle and interior design photographer located here in Atlanta, GA. I consider myself a “Jill of all trades” but recently with the rise in small businesses and the current obsession with home interior design, my specialty has been shifting to branding and interior design/real estate photography.

I’m all about providing warm, genuine and most importantly fun experiences. Whether my clients are aiming to profess their love to their soulmate, build everlasting memories or boss up their business, I’m here to help cultivate creative and beautiful imagery.

You know what I’m most proud of? The fact that I’m actually doing this entrepreneur thing. For so long, I let fear drive me to procrastination and stagnation. I want to create a legacy for my family and I believe I’m getting much closer to my goals each day.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
COVID-19 turned the world on its face and through the tragedy, it further cemented my gratitude for family and community. It made me realize the things we make a big fuss over don’t matter. Who cares about the latest designer bag? The experiences mean more to me.
