Life & Work with Brittany Sapp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Sapp.

Hi Brittany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I feel like story seems short, but 3 1/2 years ago, I signed up to take a fun Mother’s Day cookie class with my mom and grandma, later that year I was playing around baking and decorating (thank you Instagram videos for inspiring me to get started) and posted some Thanksgiving creations. A very sweet friend asked if she could purchase and shared the post, it spread pretty fast that I could make cookies and here I am today staying booked up 4-6 months out.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel incredibly blessed to say it’s been a smooth journey, figuring out how to balance kids and how much I can take on was the hardest part, but I have an amazing family that supports this dream and great clients who book with me for all their events. It makes me feel extremely grateful to be a part of their big moments and milestones, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to say that enough.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a cookie baker and artist. I specialize in sugar cookies with royal Icing and customize my cookies to my client’s requests. I think I am most proud of how I can translate a client’s dream into a piece of delicious edible art. I love to use an inspirational piece even as small as the invite and make a set to coordinate with their decor. I would say the attention to tiny details and the taste of my cookies is what sets me apart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck, but God’s will… Every closed door lead me to this point. Those shut doors on a previous business would have never lead me down the road of baking and having the time to be creative.
