Life & Work with Bryant Perez of Gainesville, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryant Perez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always had a love for music. It started early – listening to rap music and sneaking it from my mother while playing in an orchestra during middle school (cello and double bass). Around high school I started playing electric guitar and bass and wanting to create a band. Eventually during college I formed and managed a hardcore metal band. Once the group disbanded I went into a ten year or so depression. I struggled hard and tried to create a band, but found it difficult. I realized going back to my first love was the best route especially since I can create all the music myself and I don’t have to rely on other people to make it work. I have been releasing music, music videos, and performing since 2021. I have had several voice acting roles, my first official acting role recently, and planning to release a storytelling audiobook as well. I may or may not have a video game in the works as well! I have had a film score, nominations for music videos in film festivals, and still releasing content routinely!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not. Loss of family members, friends, depression, financial hardships, and so many obstacles have come my way. The battle with oneself is a big one. But most of my music touches on these subjects. I lost one of my brothers to suicide and around that time I was not making music again yet. I was practicing MMA and debating on having an amateur fight when COVID hit. This spiraled me into a choice of either following in my brother’s choice or doing something to fight the depression. I chose to get back into music and wrote “Rain” about him. Realizing I cannot just have one song I started writing more. “Javelin” was the first track to be officially release and the music video is a great metaphor for that fight within oneself that we sometimes have.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a model, voice actor, actor, and producer. I am mainly known for the hip-hop genre that I release, but also have music in metal, EDM, and psychedelic electronica genres. I am most proud to say that my music has saved a life. It has healed and helped so many and made my family proud. My authenticity, charisma, and powerful stage presence tend to set me apart – or at least impact those who come across my work or see me live.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I would like everyone to know it is never too late to start. To try. To fail. And try again. Never stop working on yourself and finding the love in whatever you do. Life can be extremely difficult, but know there are always better days ahead. Never stop.
