Today we’d like to introduce you to Bucci.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started writing rhymes, poems, stories, raps, as young as 5, and recorded songs regularly by 12, and never stopped. I had a family full of musicians, pianists, drummers, singers, guitarists, etc., as well as athletes. I started with piano, then guitar. Music was an outlet earlier in life, just like sports. A lot of my story comes across through my music, as I would use it as a platform to speak to what I experienced all around me in St. Louis growing up. I worked on crafting the album High Frequencies Only constantly recording alongside Bezel Marciano, my brother, who took me to Suburban Pro studios in south St.Louis, where I met well regarded engineer Carter McKee. Working as a team we brought ideas to life, and it would spark me going forward in how I approached making music. My story is still being written and I have more music to release as life goes on.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve gained even through my losses, as I’ve learned and remained loyal to speaking life into what I do as well as others. My music is a reflection of that. My normal challenges to creating come in many forms, such as how I should structure a song to make as much impact as possible within a shortened amount of time. Growing with how music is consumed but not sacrificing style or uniqueness is a universal challenge. I embrace the hurdles a song brings as conveying meaning through an idea is not always simple. I work through them like I work through live, with attention to detail, capturing moments, memories, and making the best of them.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through my studies in psychology I’ve learned to look at circumstances from different ways. It shaped me to see life through different perspectives. This affected me in how I view music, from a beat perspective, to pitch, delivery, tone, to make all elements work together.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Working with Cash Dody and Bezel Marciano both attributed to my growth as a recording artist. Cash Dody, who is an engineer, producer, and artist inspired me to master my voice, before I understood how to fully record. We practiced numerous times to master my vocal skills to find the right pocket musically. He would perform, record, and produce for other artist throughout St. Louis. He had a home studio where we would made countless amounts of music to find our sound.
Working with Bezel Marciano was a push for both of us, in the pursuit of elevating the sound to new heights musically, as he had also a background in producing and rapping. We Our music styles are complimentary with our low and high tones providing balance. This also matching our backgrounds of North and South St. Louis.
