Hi Calpernia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a very young age, I’ve always had a passion for creating beautiful, unforgettable moments. Whether it was planning school events, family functions, or just bringing people together. I naturally gravitated toward organizing experiences that made others feel celebrated. That love eventually evolved into a career in the event industry, where I’ve spent over a decade gaining hands-on experience in everything, from day-of coordination to full-scale production.
I co-founded a successful event company and built a strong reputation through word-of-mouth and social media, but deep down I knew I had a much larger vision to fulfill. In 2025, I made the bold decision to launch Stellar Events by SGP, a brand that not only represents my initials but also stands for the excellence, sparkle, and divine alignment that I strive to bring into every event.
It hasn’t always been easy — I’ve had to navigate health challenges, financial struggles, and rebuild from scratch after personal setbacks — but my faith, resilience, and determination have always carried me forward. I now operate under my parent company, SGP Financial Holdings LLC, and I’m actively towards building a multi-venue event empire rooted in professionalism, creativity, and legacy. Every step of the way has been guided by purpose and passion — and I’m just getting started.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, the road hasn’t always been smooth — but every challenge helped shape my purpose. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced a fair share of obstacles, from financial setbacks and unexpected life changes to the uncertainty that comes with launching something new. There were moments when I had to take a step back, reevaluate, and rebuild — all while staying committed to the bigger vision.
What kept me going was my faith, my support system of family, and loyal clients who believed in me even during transitions, and a deep belief that what I’m building isn’t just a business — it’s a calling. Every detour taught me something, and every delay prepared me for something greater.

My clients often call me “The Bride Whisperer” because I know how to anticipate their needs, ease their stress, and make their vision feel like magic. I’m most proud of the way my work has restored trust in the planning process for so many people. I’ve helped clients recover from previous bad experiences, and I’ve built a reputation for showing up, delivering excellence, and treating every event like it’s my own family’s celebration.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t just about strategy — it’s about staying the course. There will be delays, disappointments, and detours — but if your purpose is bigger than your problems, you’ll always find a way through.
I’ve learned to trust the process, give myself grace, and stay focused on the bigger picture — even when the timing doesn’t match the vision. Every “pause” prepared me for something greater, and every challenge sharpened my commitment to excellence, service, and impact.
