Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Hereford.

Hi Cameron, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a scatter box! I’ve tried so many different things to satisfy me from trades, college, and braiding and once I began writing – that’s what I fell in love with. I’ve always been a social butterfly – I’ve never met a stranger! I started writing in Georgia while attending Turner job corps where I was introduced to Andreas Parsley that later led me to a self-published author, Lorenzo Pierson and from there I’ve had my foot on the gas. I published my book in 2021 and later found an outstanding cast and made my book into a movie shot by Tevin Keith! I have held a lot of titles, but being a self-published author then a year later became a movie director has opened so many more doors for me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Omg no! I will say prayer and fasting has definitely made a way out of no way! I’ve lost very close friends and business partners, I suffered from heart problems, and I’ve lost some of my favorite people due to my life-changing for the best, so fast. I have been in so many crazy situations being a female in this industry. I wouldn’t trade a thing though. I’m just happy I stayed true to myself. People I thought I needed were replaced by people who believed in my vision! Tevin Keith and his talent has played a major role on pushing me even further. I thank God for allowing him to honestly care about this movement.

I’ve literally begged for help from people who has already directed and landed deals for television and was left on read. I finally landed my own deal with some of the world’s biggest tv platforms! Be on the lookout for my new movie What Money Can’t Buy!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a self-published author & a movie director! I am known for writing urban novels and giving my readers exactly what they want! I have my audience at the edge of their seats! I am most proud of myself for not giving up. I have been through so much to the point I had to shut down from the world. I couldn’t let those things hold me back – not only do I hold these titles – but I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. Quez, Quay, Kaidi & Dj deserves the fruit from my labor.

What are your plans for the future?
I definitely just signed a major deal for my movies so I will be in rotation with more hood books – hood movies and who knows – I may start directing for others! I didn’t have the movie directing in my plans – it kinda just happened.

I’m going to continue being me! Creating, helping others, and giving my audience what they want! I finally love what I do.
