Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Adell. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Christopher Adell is an Author, fashion designer, and founder of the brand GW Apparel by Untitled Production Team. He was born and raised in New York, graduating from The School of the Arts in 2002, where he developed skills in visual creation, acting, and poetry. In 2004, Christopher strayed from the traditional route and joined the Army as a multimedia illustrator. He deployed to Iraq three times in support of Iraqi Surge, Iraqi Sovereignty, and Operation Inherent Resolve. While in the military, he gained leadership experience managing over 700 people and served as a suicide prevention counselor, Equal Opportunity Advisor, and Career Manager to those who served under his influence. He moved to Savannah, Georgia and decided to wholeheartedly chase his dreams to start his own production company. Learning as he went, Chris began his entrepreneurial journey by picking up skills in all areas, from design to marketing, photography, graphic design, and subliminal advertising.
In a short time, Christopher grew the Untitled Production Team Company into a self-sufficient go-to for many small businesses active on social media sites, as Chris uses this as his sole source of marketing. Known mostly for his over 15 years of leadership experience and community service with the Untitled Production Team, Chris helped over 200 small businesses grow. He developed into a guru of growing small businesses by making them more self-sufficient and developing effective business strategies. In 2017, GW Apparel clothing line was created with a goal to raise the consciousness of our people and empower them through visual symbolism and powerful messages. He combined his knowledge of mental health and graphic design to create clothing with a purpose to heal. The company has seen immense success with over 100 unique designs and a rapidly growing presence in the ATL and surrounding area.
In December of 2020, he authored his first self-published book “Mental Health Now 11 Techniques to deal with Mental Health in 2020 and Beyond”. Looking forward, 2020 stands tall like the apex of a fear-based consciousness, and if gone unaddressed, it could lead to a steady rise in mental health illnesses. Lockdown has forced millions to face themselves and do the inner work necessary to heal and grow. Mental Health Now is no ordinary book — outlining 11 techniques you can use to manage your mental health, beat pandemic fatigue, and take back your power.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Harnessing my personal experiences into my platform to educate people about mental health using a holistic approach is revolutionary. The traditional education system, mental health medicine is the primary method, but I have a unique approach. Having often faced the rigors of combat and carrying an invaluable perspective on the importance of mental health awareness is often hard to translate into the modern education system. Breaking through the stigma and gaining stakeholder support. Our goal is to build mental programs for children in school. Physical fitness and mental fitness are both daily practices and personal responsibilities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is centered around three things: mentoring, holistic mental health, and entrepreneurship development. I speak and teach ancient holistic practices to deal with mental health, primarily in youth and young adults. I have done numerous events in the Atlanta metropolitan area like the Malcolm X Festival, Juneteenth ATL, and Clark Atlanta University, Spelman, and Morehouse College. I have built a male mentorship program on Fort Eisenhower, GA, and throughout the CSRA since 2019. I combine a holistic approach to mental wellness with creative arts within fashion. GW Apparel was developed in 2016 to improve the subconscious value of self by promoting self-love. The subconscious mind is programmed in three ways: through repetition, symbols, and trauma. Be thyself repetitiously and unapologetic despite what others think. Love thyself through symbolic gestures; love is an action word. Know thyself is getting to the sources of one’s trauma so that you may heal thyself.
Every design speaks to one or all of these three principles to consciousness. What sets me apart from others I used my military knowledge in marketing, design, and psychological operation to develop this innovative fashion concept. Less than 1% of the US popular services in the military, and I had an entire career under my belt while also becoming an entrepreneur; I am the 1% of the 1%. We helped over 200 small businesses grow or start by providing web development, logo creation, marketing, and branding. What I am most proud of is seeing the vision of building the Untitled Production Team in 2012 as a way to build generational wealth for my three children Jayden (15), Chrislyn (12), and Ahsha (5). My child help with building GW Apparel and are a critical part of my success.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Life is neutral, not good nor bad, it is what perspective we apply to life that makes it good or bad. Applying a positive attitude to the pursuit of the things we want to achieve and nothing can stop you. The universe will not conspire against you in pursuit of exercising your will. Meaning it will aid you in your success or carry you to your demise. Mentorship is key, but I don’t tell people to find a mentor; when you are on the right road, a mentor will find you. I wish I knew starting out how important confidence is to success, again it is about your attitude or mindset.
