Life & Work with Corey Andrew of The East Side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Andrew

Hi Corey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as an artist spans over 20 years, rooted in a deep passion for storytelling through music. I started out experimenting with sound early, constantly pushing myself to evolve and refine my craft. I started writing music in middle school, and recording songs by high school. Doing cyphers, open mic nights, indie showcases etc. I finally started taking it serious when I started college and it was all gas from that point forward.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Over the years, I’ve experienced the highs and lows of the industry, but each moment has shaped me into the artist I am today. From bad management situations, to performing for 1-2 people and even having my music attributed to another artist with the same name My music is a reflection of that journey—not just creatively, but personally—exploring themes of self-discovery, resilience, and authenticity.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Rapper, Songwriter, Singer, Photographer and Videographer. I’ve also started getting my production credits started. I think one of my proudest moments was reaching 20,000,000 streams across all platforms where my music is streamed. Also the release of my last album “Forever With Love.”

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Stay hungry; it gets really easy to feel defeated or like you’re lagging behind (especially in this city), but just remember what you’re doing this for, who you’re doing it for.
