Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Simmons.
Hi Dominique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well as a young tender Roni, I used to want to be an entertainer. I had very little confidence due to my surroundings but I have done some things. I completely lost confidence in myself at the age of 15 and decided to put my dreams behind me because I felt too unfortunate to continue to pursue. At the age of 19, I’ve gotten my first real job and I decided once I’m able to make some decent money I can finish on pursuing my dreams. Omg, like that was a hell ride in itself because at first, I had no one to teach me the ropes. I was going to these talent agencies and getting ripped off. After that, I was running into scam after scam. Now there was a tad bit of a highlight in my mess. I reached out to this photographer and he was well known and I was building my modeling profile with him around that time I was working two jobs so I could afford it. As things started to look good for me and I’m building an audience boom, I loose one of my main income streaming jobs. I was so disappointed and to find another job that pays like the one I had was hard to find. One of my main things was I didn’t want to get a job and it distracts me from my purpose. After that, it was decline in my success. It took a toll on my mental health and I decided once again maybe this not for me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Where should I start. I’ve gotten scammed by my first-ever talent agency. After that, I got with this “modeling board” it like jobs so they show you what they’re looking for and you apply. I’ve gotten left on seen. Half of the jobs weren’t real, you won’t get any feedback when you apply for jobs. People have tried to get me to do fraudulent bank scams. It was just a mess.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, I was very much interested in MODELING that was an epic fail. Also, I picked up a skill. Mixologist omg I loved it so much I received my license and I worked in small bars. I’ve gotten the best feedback on my personality.
What’s next?
Yes, I still would to model but with my twist on it. Now I’m into herbalism. I want to own me a vegan cafe and a transportation company.
