Today we’d like to introduce you to Eldar Karen.
Hi Eldar, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began working in girls and tween apparel almost 8 years ago. I was looking to expand my business when I went out to lunch with my friend, Stefani Silverman, who had worked in corporate aesthetiques for many years. Over lunch we discussed how skincare and fashion really go hand-in-hand. That’s how our vision started with what has now turned into BASE Fashion + Facial Bar, an open concept experiential studio where you can get amazing high touch and high tech facials, along with shopping the latest trends in fashion and skincare.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a new business never goes exactly how you think it will. There are always delays with paperwork, construction, and a variety of unknown’s. At BASE we are creating an entire new concept. There are no models for us to base our business on. It has been a big and wonderful learning experience carving out exactly the type of business we want to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are an open concept studio that offers luxurious high touch + high tech facials along with being able to shop the latest trends in skin care and women’s fashion. We are a spot to come and get pampered, whether you are coming alone, with a group of girlfriends or family!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that there is so much to do Atlanta! You can be outdoors most of the year and there is always a lot to chose from.
Being a busy mom of 4 and working, it’s very difficult to find time for myself. Things need to be convenient in order for me to find time for me!
